Clemens' suit against McNamee takes big hit

Authorities told trainer Brian McNamee that he could become the target of a criminal probe if he refused to cooperate with former Sen. George Mitchell's steroid investigation, according to an affidavit to be filed in federal court in Houston Friday by Assistant United States Attorney Matthew Parrella. The affidavit could be a fatal blow to the defamation lawsuit Roger Clemens filed earlier this year against McNamee for telling Mitchell that he injected the seven-time Cy Young Award winner with steroids and human growth hormone. Parrella said in the document that McNamee could have faced criminal charges if he refused to talk to Mitchell.

Clemens is spending money - for what? To keep his name and "his legaby" from being trashed??? That has already happened and it has been written in stone. It is not they big of a deal either. Unless you some freakishly weird person who thinks about this legacy type of crapolla, then to each his own. These ballplayers have the same freaky dreams that you have. Some want to wear womens panties, take drugs and beat women. The whole nine yards of freaky behavior is also in their heads too. Some like to LIE to the nation. Does any of this sound familiar?

Another fine headline from fannation where rules of grammar are just thrown out of the window. I know second and third graders who have their subject-verb agreement down pat. Let me guess, fannation. You thought Clemens' was the subject, not suit, because you saw the letter 'S'. Wow. This comment is more, I feel, is more relevant than anything regarding the utter annoyance that this lawsuit has been in 2008.

Clemens could win this lawsuit but it isn't going to restore his "legacy"...he is just wasting his money. I can't believe he is still pursuing this case.

Roidger...

December 19, 2008  11:23 AM ET

Not really sure why this is news anymore- His rep is shot, legay gone....
I can see why the govt wants to make an example out of someone lying to them....but in this particular case- when there is no murder/serious offense- other than 'lying' - I mean shouldn't the govt put the $$ they are WASTING on this to better use ?

A great TD. More people should see it and learn what a throwdown is all about:

A simple grammatical error makes you "stupid?" I mean, I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling, but a simple mistake hardly qualifies as stupidity.
