05:13 AM ET 12.20 | Quinton "Rampage" Jackson says it was losing the UFC light heavyweight title to Forrest Griffin in July that caused him to take his mixed martial arts career more seriously. Though he doesn't like to talk about it, being arrested on hit-and-run charges 10 days later probably factored in the transformation, too. Going from champion to being handcuffed can be humbling. It will be a rededicated and committed Jackson who will enter the octagon against Wanderlei Silva when they meet There are legal issues stemming from the alleged hit-and-run that took place in Costa Mesa, Calif., on July 15. Jackson faces two felony counts for evading police and three misdemeanor counts for hitting three cars and narrowly missing pedestrians while driving his Ford pick-up. Jackson has pleaded not guilty, and his defense attorney said his client may have suffered an episode of delirium brought on by exhaustion and dehydration compounded by severe stress-related issues.

Why is this man not in Jail?

December 20, 2008  02:39 PM ET

Who goes to jail for a hit and run?

December 20, 2008  02:45 PM ET

It's mind boggling how once again... A guy who has everything going for him... Career in the right path... Making tons of money... Has some trouble with the law... And now he is rejuvenated... Hey dummy... How about acting respectable in the first damn place huh???... This is not an attack against Rampage... I love the guy... Just hate seeing him possibly piss away a good thing

December 20, 2008  03:01 PM ET

Hopefully, he is rejuvenated. Otherwise, if he loses, he'll go on another rampage (no pun intended) an trash another section of town.

The boy got beat by the "other" man. Wow. Just admit that you got your butt kicked and get over it dude. There is no shame in losing to someone who is superior in his skills. Now the hit and run deal, man that is like criminal. Dude at work pulling that stuff became a boy in a few seconds. I feel sorry for him. His kind of behavior has changed my heart towards them - now and forever. No help from me, from now on.

December 20, 2008  03:26 PM ET

Theres something missing to that hit and run story...
Either way ... He better be focused, because this is going to be a big fight
