Giants trio hopes to play

The urgency of tomorrow night's game against the Panthers is apparent judging from the all-aboard mentality the Giants are taking. Running back Brandon Jacobs (knee), defensive tackle Fred Robbins (shoulder) and wide receiver Domenik Hixon (ankle, foot) are all listed as questionable. More significantly, however, all made it through practice this week. Coach Tom Coughlin said Jacobs will play "barring something that would be a setback" and that Robbins "has gotten better towards the end of the week." Hixon is "a little bit sore" and, like Robbins, will be a game-time decision. It would not be surprising if all three players were in uniform and on the field. Robbins, who did not play last week battling through a shoulder issue, lost strength in his left shoulder, but he said it is coming back. He declared himself "good to go." It's imperative to get Robbins back and plugging the middle against such a formidable rushing team.

Let the boys run. That is what they do best. Mr Manning will get ALL of the credit for leading HIS team to victory. Those running backs do a good job and they will get their bumps and bruises, but the glory goes to the brains of the Giants....Manning and Coughline - two men with far greater things to achieve in life.

Somehow Manning and brains are contradictory. Eagles and Cowboys scrambled them for him in the last two weeks.

December 20, 2008  09:32 AM ET

well they could take a page from Eli's book. " Unstoppable ", Eli Manning is.

Everyone should play in this game and THEN get their three weeks of rest. If the Giants win tomorrow night, the past two weeks are moot.

This will be a playoff atmosphere and I'm looking forward to it (as a Panthers fan). Looks like the weather will be nasty and could play more of a factor in the game than the players nursing injuries.

Lord knows us Giants fans certainly respect John Fox. Alot of wished The Duke would've dropped Conservative Jim in favor of Foxie. Problem was Conservative Jim got to the Superbowl.

Hey Hooah05, how bad does it still hurt that the Jints beat the Cowgirls in the playoffs last year and then won the Superbowl? I bet it wants to make you cry. Still. Oh yeah, let's not forget that the girls haven't won a playoff game since 1996... I hope Santa brings you some Kleenex and some maxipads for Christmas.

Go Jints!

Look I just saw this and although it is after the actual game I have to say that really even if the Giants lost the game to Carolina, they are still a much better team than Dallas, Philly, or Washington. You have to remember this is the NFL. You are not going to win every game (i.e. New England Patriots). Even the most dominent team is going to stumble, team are going to figure them out. The thing is with the really good teams, they figure out that they have been beating themselves and haven't really been getting beat by their opponent. Dallas beats themselves every time they lose. Same with Philly and not so much with the Redskins, they just stink. Philly was playing out of desperation, and that only takes you so far. Not one time this year have they proven they are actually a good team, because they are NOT a good team, in all actuality they are terrible! Same with Dallas. They are a big name circus. They should be the Barhnam and Bailey Cowboys!!! Goooooo G-men! It's going to be a tough road!
