07:32 AM ET 12.22 | A trade between Utah and Miami involving Shawn Marion, Carlos Boozer and others would not be a shock. LeBron James likes Boozer and would welcome him back. Boozer to the Cavs? It's a long shot, but never say never in the crazy world of the NBA. But nothing along those lines is being discussed.

I know there are new issues with feelings hurt....
but it would be a BAD business decision to give up Boozer for Marion.
CB is in his prime & has another year left
Marion is well past his prime and is a rental....

Marion, what happened? People say D'Antoni had super stars playing for him in Phoenix. I wonder if they were really super stars or players who were great in his system.

December 22, 2008  09:14 AM ET

Cleveland will be over the cap next season so he can't sign there. Miami will be under the cap but won't have enough to sign him even if Blount opts out of his contract. Also Miami and Cleveland don't have decent players besides their Superstars so forget a trade with Utah. Both teams aren't lottery teams either so Boozer won't play for Miami or Cleveland.

Detroit is the front runner for his services unless Memphis presents him with a ridiclous offer. Let the sweepstakes begin!

Considering just how dirty Boozer did the Cavs, I'd say never is pretty spot on.

Boozer to Detroit for Hamilton

This would allow the pistons to move Prince back to his natural sf position and it gives Utah an all star shooting guard. The pistons also have the cap space to re-sign him next season if they like.

Detroit

Stucky
Iverson
Prince
Boozer
Wallace

Utah
Williams
Hamilton
Miles
Millsap
Okur

boozer wants big bucks on his next deal (and wants to opt out) so if detroit could sign him long term it would definetely work

also detroit would need to work out a contract with iverson ( he aint worth his current 20 million but if a fair salary was agreed to by both parties the pistons would be back in town)

utah are so impressed with millsap they dont want boozer at his asking price - he is GONE
the jazz would have the best backcourt in the nba (deron and rip - they would compliment each other perfectly)
i think detroit should have to throw in a backup bigman as well and not kwame the hack

"Boozer to Detroit for Hamilton"

Not bad-
not sure what the cap #s are though

December 22, 2008  10:16 AM ET

As hard as it may be for the Cavs to accept, Boozer didn't do anything "wrong." The deal on the table from Cleveland was for 6 years and $39 million. The deal he was offered from Utah was for 6 years and $70 million. Considering that Boozer was only making $600,000 at the time, what did they expect from a 22 year old kid? The Cavaliers should get over it , and if Boozer is again available, the Cavs should be 1st in line. Actually, I like the Marion idea, but Boozer is certainly an acceptable alternative.

December 22, 2008  10:47 AM ET

Either way the writing is on the wall for Boozer. Milsap has been a beast filling in for him and also has a contract situation and given how in every sport and unfortunately in life the myth has been the younger the better.

Absolutely agree.
Cavs were trying to rip off Booze, he didn't know his true value, maybe poor agents whatever. Cavs got exposed, Booze took the logical better offer. So I'm not sure why cry foul. If cavs were so interested, they should have re-negotiated a bigger deal. I mean 39 and 70 not even in the same zip code. Its another thing if it were like 1 0r 2 M$ difference.

Sounds good, make the trade.

You might be over valuing Hamilton just a little. Maybe a hamilton and throw in Maxiell and thats still a maybe. Hamilton has no three point shot whats so ever he is a jump shooter and plays so-so defense. The combination of Brewer and Miles are just as good as Hamilton is and they are younger and play tough D.

December 22, 2008  11:36 AM ET

First of all Lebron James isnt in Miami.

Whats wrong with this article, the writer smoked crack before he wrote it.

Boozer will be traded, Miami, Detroit, Cleveland, but the Jazz wont trade him within the West.

December 22, 2008  11:38 AM ET

Boozer for Hamilton, HORRIBLE

The Jazz dont need another 2 Guard. Ronnie Brewer is doing just fine and the Jazz like his defensive hustle. He is in the top 5 in the NBA for steals per game. CJ Miles can also play the 2. Then you also have Morris Almond and Ronnie Price.

The Jazz want a defensive Big that plays either the 4 or 5. They might even work with trading AK47 in the same deal and bring in a SF. Korver's is done after this year as well and i dont knwo if the Jazz will resign him.

I'd take Marion over Boozer any day. At least Marion plays in every game. Boozer misses half the season evey year. Boozer is like the Mark Prior of basketball. Good skills, but can't stay healthy.
