Sounds good, Jays clear payroll to add payroll. Rolen is useless and Overbay only plays in September. The subtraction of these contracts should be more than enough to pick up Lowe. Gives jays fans a glimmer of hope. One question? Who wants Rolen or Overbay?

You can't get much worse than the trade for Rolen. Might as well get rid of him now and hope that people don't remember.

No... but it is one of the reasons he is a dewchebag. Overall prick and bad teammate.

I think the Yanks would be interested in Overbay if Tex goes to Boston. However, they would likely deal for him using only 2nd-tier prospects.

Overbay isn't spectacular at all, but is an offensive upgrade over Swisher, can hit .280 - .290 and hit 20 HRs in HR-friendly Yankee Stadium.

I didn't even know Scott Rolen playted for Toronto. And what's a Lyle Overbay?

Lowe is more reliable than AJ Burnett, but he won't get Burnett money. Toronto doesn't appear to be a contender though. But I think Lowe will end up being a bargain for whichever team gets him.

Why would the Jays go through so much trouble to get Lowe. He is good, but the part they really need help with is their offense. Stop with pitching, and get some clutch guys on the plate.

I hate seeing what happened to Scott Rolen after the Hee Seop Choi collision. He's never been the same. What a claim to fame for Hee Seop Choi. The only thing notable was to take part in derailing a likely HOF career.

The Jays may like Lowe, doesn't mean they can have him. Just like Ryan Gosling liked the Lion from Narnia but couldn't have him. The Canadian Dollar is worth 82 US cents. Lowe isn't worth it.
