There are ongoing discussions concerning a four-team trade that could send Pacers forward/center Jermaine O'Neal to the Celtics, according to league sources. But those same sources said that it is extremely unlikely that O'Neal will ever play in a Boston uniform.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June 26, 2007  09:56 AM ET

JO will never be a Celtic. No player with any desire to win will ever come to the Celtics...at least until Ainge is long gone.

June 26, 2007  10:04 AM ET

It's sad to see that Boston has become "that team." The team absolutely nobody wants to go to or play for.

June 26, 2007  10:12 AM ET

Ainge was a "good" player but his ability to run a team from the office is way below reasonable.
Another great team with history has the same problem: NY with Isiah.
It's spreading like a virus 'cause the Lakers start to show similarities.
You can have a great career as a player but it doesn't mean you will have a good career as coach or manager.

It's sad to see those teams end up like this.

Some people aren't ment for the job.

period

thats true mr sonic..every dog is not a guard dog

June 26, 2007  11:28 AM ET

Boston...that should be interesting.
BUT THANK GOD, the LAKERS may not be considering him now...he would not have been the right guy most likely.
KG is the ideal fit for the LAKERS!

I wonder what Paul Pierce thinks of all this.

"Sorry Paul, we tried but no one wants to play here, however we did get this huge f**king chinese dude"

June 26, 2007  12:32 PM ET

The Lakers should go for the reasonable and long term player and get O'Neal. O'Neal and Kobe together could be together for the next 6 to 7 years.

I would stop being a celtics fan if this trade happens

June 26, 2007  12:44 PM ET

I love my C's and would much rather see them get Yi than O'Neal.

June 26, 2007  12:54 PM ET

I would love if this trade went down (im a pacer fan). Pacers getting Bynum and Odom would be awesome.
I would feel bad for the Celtics though...O'Neal is overrated.

June 26, 2007  01:45 PM ET

Why, on earth, are the Celtics so eager to trade the # 5 overall pick?? To keep the whiner, Paul Pierce, happy??
Give me a break!! Since when does Pierce dictate personnel decisions??
The fact is that the Celtics can get an excellent player at # 5.
Maybe they should trade Pierce to a contender, if one would actually take him. NOT LIKELY!! Pierce is overpaid and over-rated, as is Jermaine O'Neal, a player Boston boes NOT need.

June 26, 2007  01:58 PM ET

Who wants to go to boston??? really....maybe NO....no one....sorry boston...yall better draft well.....yall are gonna have to over pay to get a free agent

June 26, 2007  02:05 PM ET

damm i thought oneal and pierce were boys lol

i mean do people garnett, oneal and marion would come here

with pierce and jefferson

we could do big things in the east

June 26, 2007  03:24 PM ET

O'neal is one of the most overrated PLAYERS in the league!!!
Plays like a very cocky player...he can do a lot more on the court.
I remember watching DWIGHT HOWARD CRUSH O'neal.

June 26, 2007  03:29 PM ET

I wouldn't trade Al Jefferson for O'Neal straight-up. I agree with many here - O'Neal is seriously overrated in terms of ability.

June 26, 2007  03:35 PM ET

I can't see why anyone would willingly trade for O'Neal. He's terribly overrated and injury-prone. He's also a whiner.

June 26, 2007  04:59 PM ET

Boston fans,
WHAT DO YOU WANT?...No trade is good enough; you all actually think Pierce isn't that good, yet you want good value for him, and you way overrate your talent that's gotten you total irrelevance and no one wanting to come to Boston. Seriously, what do you want to have happen?

June 26, 2007  05:53 PM ET

Tsssms you f--kin idiot.....and just what in the hell has al jefferson done??...nothing..at least jermaine is a solid low post threat...jefferson is a cross betwen shane battier and loul deng....big f--kin deal...how many rings do either of them have??..jermaine oneal gives either boston or the lakers an upgrade in the pivot...hell...he's a better low post player than KG...
