McNamee sues Clemens for defamation

Roger Clemens' former personal trainer - the man who ratted out the Rocket to the feds over alleged steroid use - is suing his ex-client for $10 million, claiming the former Yankee hurler defamed him. Brian McNamee says Clemens libeled and slandered him in comments after the Mitchell Report on steroid use in baseball was published. The summons, filed in Queens Supreme Court last week, demands Clemens pony up the massive payout for intentionally inflicting emotional distress on McNamee.

This should be good. If Roger has a brian left in his head, he'll settle out of court and crawl under a rock.

December 23, 2008  11:00 AM ET

Roidger and the Rat...
Sounds like a children's book.

December 23, 2008  12:23 PM ET

Does anyone really care about this anymore?

December 23, 2008  01:20 PM ET

Not too hard to see who's side the New York Post is on, is it.

December 23, 2008  01:52 PM ET

You know what I am tired of hearing about this, but since Im here and Its here, why not? THank God, maybe this will put some much needed humility into that ****!! Clemens. This guy was Clemens buddy but when the feds are threatening to lock you up, and you have a family that is having a medical situation, what else can you say but the jig is up and hey we got busted and that is it. But clemens had to sue him ,and hold **** press conferences...and you know what? he was found to have been lying and we found out anyway. I hope he has to pony up serious greenbacks just for being a dick.

I want to sue anyone who can get some money in my poor finacial state. Who gives a good F--- about this anymore in this current crisis in the REAL COUNTRY PROBLEMS !!!

December 23, 2008  08:04 PM ET

I agree this is a tired old story, and I admit I dislike Clemens, so watching him sink is fun. I am waiting to see what happens when he comes up for a vote in the HOF. Maybe they need to build a hall of shame, in some gawd awful place, and have Roger, Pete and Barry be the first inductees. Great players who shamed our game.

December 23, 2008  09:35 PM ET

I care...I am glad McNamee is finally fighting back...I want Clemens to pay..It is not enough he walk away. I want that liar to feel pain..

Don't give up yet Roger. Bush had until Jan. 19 to pardon you.
