LB recruit down to Alabama or Auburn

Alabama and Auburn fans might have to wait until signing day to know for sure where Douglass linebacker Jonathan Atchison will play in college. Only one thing is clear: Atchison will sign with either Alabama or Auburn. Atchison was an early commitment to Auburn over Alabama, but Alabama never gave up recruiting him. When Auburn had a coaching change, Atchison had a commitment change to Alabama. Now that Atchison is with the Crimson Tide, he said his two official visits in January will be to Alabama-- and Auburn.

Would you like to come to a school on the rising, with a proven winner coaching, great fans and tradition, or would you rather be part of the Chizik-5-19-experiment at Auburn? If you like spending your Christmas and New Years with your family, Auburn is where you need to go.

NEW ORLEANS BOUND!!!! ROLL TIDE!

Not only is Jonathan Atchison a good football player but he is a good student (3.0 GPA).

If Auburn had chosen differently regarding their Head Coach, I'd say either could be a good choice. A new, and unproven, HC taking over that mess at AU, however, does not inspire confidence. No question Bama is headed for good times, roll with the Tide on this one, kid.

AUburn made a bad move, definitely for the short term and possibly long term

December 26, 2008  01:29 PM ET

I read this kid was almost a lock to sign with Bama but nobody knows for sure until signing day. Bama's stock is rising so his best bet would be to sign with the Tide.

This athelete has a big decision to make, which family is he going to join. Best of luck to him, I hope he makes the right choice for him and his family. Being an life-long Alabama fan and alum, I, of course, think BAMA is the obvious choice. BAMA is turning into an NFL player factory and really coming together as The ALABAMA Nation as it once was. Those who choose BAMA can attest that it has become a life-long support system for an individual's success.

Best of luck to this young man.

The question: Play for a person with no class or one that has class.

HINT: It is not the one who refused to shake the ULM coach's hand after a humiliating loss and compared the loss to 9/11 (he also pulled some players who he had benched back into the game). He also doesn't look anyone in the eye as he answers their questions (cough, cough...maybe because he is lying...cough, cough...Miami Dolphins).

Jonathan Hall,
#1 - please find 1 (ONE) reliable source article, link of site talking about Saban not shaking hands with ULM coach. PLEASE!
#2 - Miami Dolphins... get over it. I am a BAMA grad, living in Miami (Northern Havana) and I know exactly why Saban was so ready to jet.... It takes a special kind of person to put up with Miami's crap both on the football field and live in general. Offer me a job back in the good 'ol South and I am gone!!! Sure he lied, he had very few options since Alabama was going after him still during the NFL season....

Would you have spoken the truth?? I doubt it. And if you say you would have, you just lied. See how easy it was?

ROLL TIDE.

...oh by the way, regarding the Pearl Harbor/911 comparisson. You probably just watched the 8-second soundbite from your friends at ESPN. You should take the time to go back and actually watch/listen to what Saban was saying during that press conference. It will surprise you how a guy with video-editing skills can manipulate little TV-puppets like yourself.

go with alabama, he has a better future football team

December 28, 2008  12:32 AM ET

Nick Satan will probably be coaching the (insert any high paying team here)'s next year anyway so he should go to AU.

Except we'll cover anything that's offered.

You sound like the fan of a team that lost to Alabama. Anyone who has been around Coach Saban even minimally knows he has a lot of class. You're just too eaten up with hatred of him to know better.

December 28, 2008  09:44 PM ET

if u want to be part of a winning team and play for a national championship or two or more, you should go to alabama and be team with this year recruit nico johnso and team up with rolando mcclain and this this freshman recruit, who is a starter don,ta hightower.they will be hard to get by and with the secondary and our defences line.we will domainate.ROLL TIDE ROLL.

No kidding.. If those are your 2 choices... it doesnt seem like much of a choice. What else can Auburn offer except instant playing time?

I will not be the coach at Alabama. I don't know how I can make it any more clear than that...

If you want to talk about coaches, let's talk about how Stoops cried his way past Texas. He even said he was basically doing that and then after weeks of doing it, he comes out and says, "I'm going to stop campaigning to get in the championship game." Oh really? After weeks of crying about it?

Kirk Herbstreit threatened to block his calls because Stoops was calling so much to lobby for a better ranking.

Anyone who has a job knows that if you are looking for a new job you never let your current boss or co-workers know. Why are coaches held to a different standard?
