Would Pistons trade Rip for Boozer?

07:46 AM ET 12.26 | So what's the solution for the Pistons? There are two, and neither is likely to happen. One is another blockbuster trade involving either Richard Hamilton or Allen Iverson, but president Joe Dumars vehemently said recently he will let things play out. But let's say the Jazz get antsy about losing Carlos Boozer without compensation, knowing he's going to opt out of his contract this summer. Wouldn't they consider swapping Boozer for Hamilton? It's not likely to happen, but it's not out of the realm, either. The second potential solution might be less drastic but not any less difficult. Whether or not the Pistons can get back to competing with the Celtics and Cavaliers might rest on the willingness of either Iverson or Hamilton to come off the bench. Both Iverson and Hamilton have said their only goal is to win a championship.

Boozer is a difference-maker for a lot teams, but giving up Hamilton for him doesn't necessarily put the Pistons on a level with Boston. Iverson on the other hand, would be a different story.

Boozer to Detroit for Hamilton
This would allow the pistons to move Prince back to his natural sf position and it gives Utah an all star shooting guard. The pistons also have the cap space to re-sign him next season if they like.

that is an excellent trade however boozer wants big bucks on his next deal (and wants to opt out) so if detroit could sign him long term it would definetely work
also detroit would need to work out a contract with iverson ( he aint worth his current 20 million but if a fair salary was agreed to by both parties the pistons would be back in town)
utah are so impressed with millsap they dont want boozer at his asking price - he is GONE
the jazz would have the best backcourt in the nba (deron and rip - they would compliment each other perfectly)
i think detroit should have to throw in a backup bigman as well and not kwame the hack

Do the trade Joe. We need that down-low presence of Boozer.

Rip is all that is left for the Pistons offense...the Iverson trade was stupid...he has killed the offense since his arrival, Rips numbers are down because of Iversons selfish play. They can get Boozer but Rip is a little to high of a price to pay

Do you honestly think if Detroit had just stayed with Billups, that they would have beaten Boston? As a Detroit fan I don't think they would have. Detroit just didn't match up well with Boston. Reality is the AI/Billups trade was made for the future. Look at the big picture folks, the Pistons will free up about $34 million when Sheed and AI become FA's this summer. Then Joe D will either try to sign Boozer this summer or try to go after Bosh or one of several FA's in the summer of 2010. Personally I'd rather have Bosh. Boozer is seems to always be banged up.

Teams that try to stick to their long-term players eventually
go belly up once they get past their primes,
Detroit -pre-trade - was basically the same team it has been
for the last few years & although they were a top 4 team-
they were on the DOWNSIDE & Joe D made the call to try
and still compete this year- while trying to free cap
Bottom line is that with prince, Rip, AI & sheed-
you have a team that should be competetive in the East

Boston, I might agree, but why not Cleveland?

I was one of the guys highly critical of the AI trade in the beginning because simply, he doesn't make any team better. You're right though my friend, Dumars was thinking of the future with this trade, it just happened to get all the knowledge-deficient AI fans thinking there was a chance for the Pistons now that he was on the team. Fact is, Billups made the Nuggets better, AI made the Pistons worse, so short-term the trade looks good for Denver. Long term it's definitely better for the Pistons should Dumars make the right FA signing with the freed up salary cap funds.

AI is Starbury in a Pistons uniform. Not going to win with him. Pistons are looking to the future and will be positioned nicely.

Don't know why AI just can't make it happen, he gets like 6 or 7 assists per game and he doesn't play like one man team Philly style no more either. Just teams can't win with AI.

This works with Hamilton. AI is not Coach Sloan.s kind of player and AI probably would't be happy there and an unhappy AI is not what Utah needs.

Judging from what I see when I do the laundry, I'd say that the answer to the first question is definitely yes.
As for the causes, we must remember that what we call "fart" and what we call "poop" are just end-members of a continuum. That is, we can have a pure fart, or a pure poop, or anything in-between, depending upon the admixture of the two.
If a sample consists mostly of poop with only a small fart component, you get such things as jet-propelled bowel movements and spongy, floating fecal masses (you know, the ones that refuse to be flushed down the toilet -- they keep popping back up).
If the sample consists mostly of fart with only a small poop component, you get what is known as "skid marks" or "fart art." These can also result from inadequate wiping, but the shape of the stain is different in the two cases. Inadequate wiping leads to elongate marks parallel to one's crack, usually with well-defined edges, whereas fart art is generally more circular and has an air-brushed look.

A little overboard there ?
AI & marbury are very different-
only thing they have in common is they are both on the
DOWNSIDE of their careers.
AI has been to the finals & carried his Philly teams on his back
Marbury has NEVER been out f the 1st round & has NEVER
carried a team anywhere
AI in Denver was not AI's failure- it was KARL'S failure to
adequately lead the team & Managements fault for putting
2 players together AI & Melo- that have the same game
- meaning they didn't COMPLIMENT each other
Now ...if playoffs started today Detroit is the 5th seed
Bottom line is don't confuse AI with Steph-
VERY different players

Better plan on Boozer to Miami. Hey issa hate Utah not Boozer, so as you see what he can do on other teams you'll see that he is a great position player. (please don't hate utah, they are the one team that keep me from watching college ball)

boozer will go to Miami, Utah will come out with a good trade, not a veteran but some picks and some youth with potential. Utah will make it to the semi conf. round and lose in 5 - 7 games. utah is consistent...good players, good coach, good run... if they could just get a center they could be a challenger for a championship. Boozer gone at the end of the year. Kierilenko gone by Feb.

The real story is with the wife... Boozer will end up in a bigger market because his wife feels he can get big endorsements and big bucks, they will / have burned a few bridges to staying with Utah. She like alot of the players wives, have too much input into the careers, and talk way to much to the management and reporters. Utah needs to off load Kierilenko, get a few more journeymen.
