McCumbee waiting on '09 ride

Reports, rumors and rumblings. That's what the last six weeks has revolved around for Chad McCumbee. "I read on the Internet what everyone else does," the West Brunswick (N.C.) High School graduate said. And with the start of the 2009 NASCAR season a little more than six weeks away, McCumbee still doesn't know if he'll be competing in the Sprint Cup, Nationwide or Camping World Truck Series. McCumbee was on course to drive the No. 44 Sprint Cup car for Petty Enterprises in 2009 before sponsorship issues arose.

The timing couldn't teams suspending operations couldn't have come at a worse time for Chad. People are in place for the start of the season. He'll just have to hope for someone wanting to make a change in one of the series and he'll get that ride.
