Marlins may be Pudge's only hope
Tigers manager Jim Leyland, who has an impeccable reputation when it comes to player evaluation, has been surprised that he's not received many phone calls asking his opinion about Pudge Rodriguez. It's a sign of the lack of interest. While Scott Boras wouldn't discuss interest by teams, the Marlins might bring Rodriguez back to where he won a championship if the price is right.

The Red Sox ought to sign him and then stop bothering the Rangers for their catchers.

The best catcher of this generation. I hope he finds a team for a couple more years and Florida will sure profit from his experience.

Pudge is not ready to retire. With the dearth of quality catching in the major leagues these days, I'm surprised that he isn't generating more interest. His bat is not what it was, but he keeps himself in excellent shape, and is still very solid defensively.

I'm sure you can get a catcher who can't throw anyone out and hits for a .240 average for a lot cheaper than you'd have to pay the little feller who used to be known as Pudge.

How ironic, there is no interest in Pudge, who hit 50 points better than Varitek and threw out over a third of the runners who tried to steal on him. But Bora$$ wants a four year, $60 million contract for Tek.
