Longhorns snag Florida transfer
Jai Lucas, the former Florida guard who left the Gators last month, says he will transfer to Texas. Lucas started all 36 games as a freshman at Florida but decided after one exhibition game before this season that he would leave. He told Houston television station KRIV on Sunday that he chose the Longhorns over Rice and Baylor. Lucas said Texas coach Rick Barnes was a key to his decision. At Florida, Lucas averaged 8.5 points, led the Gators in 3-point shooting and was named to the SEC all-freshman team. Gators coach Billy Donovan said last month that Lucas wanted to play the point, a spot Nick Calathes has secured. Instead, Lucas was relegated mostly to shooting guard. Lucas will have to sit out a season before becoming eligible to play.

What does "sit out a season" mean? Can the dude play in the 09-10 season, or does the one exhibition game he played in this year mean he's not eligible until 10-11?

You must sit out one full season after transferring to another school after being on an active roster. He want be able to play until 10 - 11.

Does one exhibition game use up a full year of eligibility? Can he play for us for 2 seasons or 3?

That's cute. McCoy is pretty good but he is not Tebow. Bradford is better than McCoy and you guys will see what a difference it is playing against the SEC not Iowa State and Baylor.

Bradford didn't beat McCoy or his team... so, what's your grounds for that statement?

You talking out of your third eye? Tebow is good, but I would rather have McCoy. Forget Bradford. McCoy did more with less than Tebow or Bradford. C-Mac was the true Heisman winner. Florida is lucky they are not playing Utah. Zero U lays an egg again in this game and the Gators are the "National Champions" but Utah could whip your butts and Texas certainly could as well. We need a playoff system, so flawed teams could be exposed and a true champion could prevail.

Tebow's better and just about everything the jesus said is wrong. Good for Jai Lucas, dumb move by Donovan to move Calathes to the point, he's a natural scorer.

I love it! I found another thread about Tebow. My question to the Gator haters is when Florida beats Oklahoma will Tebow finally get the credit he deserves? With Tebow you have two playersw in one. You have a bulldozer fullback-which is key and you have a descent QB. His stats are good. Look at completion percentage, look at his ability to stay in the pocket and not be rattled, look at his TD(throws) to INT ratio. These are all very good and then look at what conference he plays in. The S.E.C. is loaded with future NFL players and he's dominating at this level. Go Gators! Titleville U.S.A.

were talking about college basketball here so why does it have to be about tebow?
bottom line is that tebow is a great QB and a class act as a person, so why does everyone have to hate on him?
oh wait, because thats ALL O.U. fans do. hate on florida cause they can't beat them, hate on texas cause they don't have as good of athletics, hate on USC cause their still hurting from that A-- whooping they got in 2005. hate, hate, hate.

I am glad we got one of our own back. If we kept Texas talent in Texas, Texas teams would be ranked 1-14 in EVERY sport. McMoy is aa better QB and a winner. Good job florida, you beat ou by the same amount we did, lol good job
