Terrell Davis calls T.O. 'a cancer'

Not to be outdone by ESPN's Cris Carter who mentioned Terrell Owens and a "bullet" in the same sentence, NFLN's Terrell Davis had this to say Monday on "Total Access" when the discussion turned to fixing the Cowboys: "The first guy that's got to go is T.O..." T.D. said. "T.O. I'm sorry you are a cancer. You got to go." I think T.D. called T.O. the "c" word at least three times. What is it about T.O. that brings out such tough words from a couple of guys who were pretty good players themselves? Recall that T.D., who did his time with the Broncos, is a 2-time Super Bowl champ and a Super Bowl MVP. Meanwhile...NFL Network analyst Michael Lombardi was all over Roy (WR) Williams. He mentioned Williams had questionable work ethics at Texas and with the Lions. He said he would keep T.O. and dump Williams. Yes but which team will give the Cowboys a first and a third round draft choice for Williams?

Funny thing, TO could be a headache, but he is every year backing up what his big mouth is saying. Love him, hate him, but in that last game the only one with respectable numbers was him.

I'm seeing more and more bonified players finally speaking out about this psycho....

December 30, 2008  07:36 AM ET

Cris Carter still has to be wondering how he lost his Inside The NFL job.

December 30, 2008  07:39 AM ET

TO brings everyone around him down despite his numbers. That's why no team has or ever will win it all with him.

He may have gotten paid more money at ESPN...

T.O. has some issues, no debating that, but this man comes to play and doesn't show signs of slowing down. If it were me, I would keep Romo but find a QB that could either start and compete for the job. I think Romo could use a little heat and the threat of being sat down. I would keep the core players together at least 1 more year.

I agree with those that say TO is not the issue. Why is it bad that a player wants to win, wants to be the best? Sorry, the Eagles got "rid" of TO, who just so happened to help get them to the Super Bowl, playing injured as well, and they have not been as good since he left.

Dallas needs Jerry to put a strong GM and Coach in place, and let them run the team.

December 30, 2008  07:56 AM ET

Can't wait for TO's response on this one, might make for one enjoyable week.

Thats funny I thought the Eagles were in the playoffs and T.O. will be watching from his living room??????????

As much as T.O. can be a pain in the ****, he does have 4 superbowl rings already. He doesn't have to go for rings like Cris Carter doesn't have, and many of the other knuckleheads. During Philadelphia's Superbowl, who was sucking it up and not puking it out on the field? T.O. A lot of times, you don't like his answers; but, you have to listen now and again.

December 30, 2008  08:18 AM ET

TD or any other former player or coach or what may have you has ever questioned TO's ability to play the game, that has NEVER been an issue. It's the fact that he is a cancer to team chemistry and his attitude is yes WIN but it is WIN FOR ME FOR TO he doesn't give a crap about the team. It has been proven many times in many sports that a sub par TEAM with no all stars can easily beat the pre madonnas. Lombardi's packers, last years giants (post pre madonna shockey and tiki), the list is endless.

December 30, 2008  08:19 AM ET

Numbers mean nothing if you aren't winning, the TEAM wins, not YOU! His numbers have won nothing, all he has ever done has brought every team down he has ever played on. And all Dallas fans can keep saying is "stop hating dog!":) That's right, keep your heads in the sand, so called and self proclaimed "America's Team" It is amusing and entertaining to watch your team of high paid overrated **** self destruct every year. I guess with the economy down the drain this year, being called "America's Team" might just fit.
