LSU QB commit recruiting others
While LSU dismantled Georgia Tech in Wednesday's Chick-fil-A Bowl, the Tigers' new recruiting coordinator worked his magic in the players lounge at a Walt Disney World hotel. The coordinator didn't violate any NCAA rules because he isn't actually a member of LSU's staff. Houston Cypress Ridge quarterback Russell Shepard (Takkle.com's No. 1 overall prospect), along with several dozen fellow All-Star seniors for Sunday's Under Armour All-America Game, made the rounds Wednesday night, making sure all the players considering LSU took special note of the way the Tigers finished their season. Shepard, who committed to LSU in March, probably has spent more time than LSU's coaches trying to make the Tigers' 2009 class the nation's best. Hence the honorary title.

When Recruits do this I feel it doesnt have as big of a impact that people think. I think it just solidifies the recruits LSU has and maybe keeps LSU high up there on other recruits list!
As for him being the TEBOW? he is going to have sit out for awhile because LSU's QB in their bowl game looked GOOD! He is going to be the man for a very long time there at LSU (next 3 years) and he could bea legend...he is fast and his arm is good!

If he is near as tough as Tebow, a lot of teams should be scared.
"whohoo 8-5 man lsu had a great season lol "
While not the season we hoped for, it was a season most Tide fans would have killed for over the last decade. Let's see in four years when Satan has to play with his recruits instead of Shula's.

He hasn't played a single down of college ball. Could we at least wait until after his first game before we start saddling this kid with expectations he will never live up to?

Trust me. I went to school with the young man's father, and he's a awesome kid. He's always hit the books and he's parent's are serious about discipline and integrity. I'm willing to say that L.S.U. will be absolutely please with what this guy brings to the table. He's no joke!!!

Not so much. As long as he does not end up as another Shareece Wright. Perrilloux was never arrested, as many Trojans have been! If you live in a glass house better hold those stones!

i wonder how much playing time he will get with a dual threat true freshman (sophomore next year) qb jordan jefferson already looking very impressive in the bowl game. its not like at florida when tebow came in because leak was a pocket passer. i bet he will live up to the expectations, but i wonder how much playing time he will actually recieve. but no doubt he will make the most of it. this is coming from a michigan fan who could have used shepard very badly

I wish Ed Orgeron would have taken an LSU position. That dude can recruit. But if this guy pans out, he can always recruit for LSU. He's hired.

Are you kidding me? Don't flatter yourself, you're not that good. OSU could care less about LSU. It would be like USC hating on Stanford.

OSU... isn't that the same team that got spanked last year by these same tigers last year for a NC?

That's exactly my point dillweed. Just because you loose to a team, doesn't mean you hate them or are jealous of their success. Generrally OSU fans don't hate on LSU because they are not consistently a top team like the teams that are hated (USC, Florida, OSU, Oklahoma, etc)

"i wonder how much playing time he will get with a dual threat true freshman (sophomore next year) qb jordan jefferson already looking very impressive in the bowl game"....
What I'm intrigued by is the rumor that Coach Miles is thinking about having Shepard and Jefferson on the field at the same time! Two strong, fast kids who can run AND throw.
Make that formation work, and we go from a 4 cylinder to a Hemi overnight.....
