It could be his final collegiate game if Harvin decides to go pro and forgo his senior year at UF.

With Percy or without Percy - we were winning this game either way. But Tebow's job is now undoubtedly even easier now.

Best wishes, Percy, if you do go pro!!!

I see the Gators winning but their chances would be a lot greater with Percy playing. Speed kills and he has that in abundance.

January 3, 2009  02:05 PM ET

Whether Percy plays or not it is in Meyers best strategy to indicate that he will play (even if very limited) so Oklahoma must prepare there game plan to stop him. Otherwise the weak spots would be easier to attack. Recall how earlier this season the extent of Peyton Mannings injury was kept quiet.

Guys, guys, it's nice we are all so cocky. Do you remember '06 and how cocky the Buckeyes were? They were convinced they would kill us. We, on the other hand were pumped because everyone was saying we would get beaten. This is similar to what happened last night to Bama against Utah. Bama was supposed to wipe the field with Utah. I don't mind telling you that I am worried! Go Gators!

BOOMER SOONER!

Its great to be a florida gator

I think Percy not playing against Alabama made that game a whole lot closer; he would have been worth at leat antoher 10 points fir Florida

Don't worry so much, pal. Utah played great, but Bama did have some injury problems (esp. on the OL) which certainly helped the Utes. Sure we still have a couple injuries ourseleves, but we're also getting some boys back - and OU has lost a couple as well. Our D will surprise the OU offense, and they won't mop us up like they expect. Meanwhile, our O will have a good time against their D. Expect OU to come out fighting hard, but emotion only lasts so long. Once the game settles down, we will methodically tear them apart (I've been saying 48-17, but could easily grant them 24).

Besides, Urban will keep the players from getting the big heads... so that frees us from the "overconfidence" concerns. Count on us to play focused, and even mad (for Bradford stealing Tebow's SECOND Heisman) - thereby nullifying to some extent OU's own emotional start. We'll be fine. CHOMP!!!

I like the way you think. I hope you are right. Go Gators!!!

I agree with that, so the argument that Utah beat Bama by more than we did is not valid. Go Gators!

It is good strategy, but I hear from G-ville that the report is true. Percy will play and he's fuly healthy. Watchout Okies. Go Gators!!

January 3, 2009  04:47 PM ET

LMAO! I remember when OU was thinking Boise St was going to be an easy game, as well.
Ya'll might want to pray your players aren't of the same mindset as their fans'.

Percy Harvin and the NFL won't mix. Think Jason Capel. He is a bust waiting to happen. Like many of his Gator team mates, he is too soft to make it in the NFL.

January 3, 2009  05:07 PM ET

The pathetically over rated Gators won't keep OU under 50. If the Sooners can get an early lead, it will be over by the half.

OU 53
UF 28

I was hoping for a T&R about how bama was stopping their football program after getting embarrassed last night....sooners win this one in a land slide

January 3, 2009  05:31 PM ET

RCS, INC, and OhioDore... keep dreaming. The GATORS are the ones who will be winning big. And you know what? I won't even rub your faces in it afterward, because to me it will simply be what's expected. Par for the course. No big whoop. (Well, except for the National Title - our SECOND in THREE years).

But until the Big Game, I'll keep giving shouts out to my team (GO GATORS!!!), and I'll leave the Okies with this simple warning: CHOMP!!!

This game reminds me a lot of the 2000 Championship when Wienke had just won the heisman and Fla State's high powered offense was supposed to be unstoppable. Thus Torrence Marshall kept the OU defense motivated for Heupul's 2nd place in the heisman and the old addage that offense wins games while defense wins championships proved true.

A difference this game is that Fla is favored by the oddsmakers, not the high powered offensive team.

Will be pulling for the Sooners but this game is too close to call. Any indications that the Tex Tech cotton bowl loss gave were discounted by Utah dominating Bama. It will be a heck of a game.

It will be a heck of a game...
but don't try and compare the Ole Miss buttkicking of TT to the Utah v Alabama game. (and you forgot that OK State was exposed by Oregon too)
here's the glaring differences in the two upsets:
#25 Ole Miss came back from a 1st qtr deficit - outscoring #7 TT over the last 3 qtrs by 40-20 to win by 2 TDs.
Utah #6 @ 12-0 (12th in Total D) beat #4 12-1 Alabama by 2 TDs

11-1 TT showed almost no defense in getting trounced by an 8-4 Mississippi team that was ranked 18 places below them. Altho underrated, Utah beat a good team, but one in its weight class. TT was a heavyweight beaten by a middleweight.
