Boston College football coach Jeff Jagodzinski has been contacted by the New York Jets about becoming their next head coach, according to sources at the school. Jagodzinski's name was first mentioned in published reports yesterday, but when reached about any interest or contact, Jagodzinski was firm in his denial. "Not true," he said. "Where did you hear that?" When told it was in a published report, Jagodzinski said, "Well, there's nothing to it. I haven't talked to them and no one has contacted me." Later in the day, sources at BC, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the Jets had indeed contacted Jagodzinski, although there was no certainty a meeting would take place.

The jets calling anybody that is willing to talk to them. They called me last night to ask me.

Personally I think this guy won the games he did this year because his defensive coordinator is amazing. I have never seen a team put so many people in the correct positions based purely on scheme and play calling. If this guy gets the Jets job he is gone inside of three years.

Not a bad interview - better than the former head coach-Eric Manginilost !!!

Jag should go interview. What is the future at Boston College? An occasional BCS game? Continuing to be snubbed by the good 2nd class bowls because they don't travel well? BC is not national championship material. Never has been - never will be.

He's done a fine job thus far at BC. BC is a LOOOOONG way from the NFL, however. This move would be borderline lunacy... which is just what the Jets prefer.
