Celtics' Allen would welcome Marbury
Stephon Marbury is still a New York Knick, but if he becomes a Celtic, Ray Allen would be among those willing to accept him. "It's speculation, I don't really have to think about it," Allen said after practice yesterday. "I learned a long time ago to deal with everything and everyone we have here, that's where our focus has to be." But Marbury is in Allen's thoughts as the Celtics and Knicks prepare to meet in New York tonight. "I think it is somewhat disappointing watching what has happened with Stephon," Allen said. "It's disappointing, because whatever is going on with the Knicks, I thought he could still help that team. It's not like he's a guy who can't play basketball anymore." Marbury, responding to a report that he could join the Celtics, said he would be interested in doing so, if a buyout of his contract with the Knicks is settled.

Marbury started all of this bs with his shoddy attitude. Dont be frekaing out and making him seem innocent. He is an absurd person and in his own mess......I think that whoever would want him must deserve him. He WILL NOT make the Celtics any better than they are now. Hence it would be very stupid to bring him on their team. IF he wanted to play for the Celtics he could cancel his contract right???? But instead he is on the Knicks welfare system. WORD.

I cannot see Steph with the Celtics but I dismiss Allen's statement as a good guy not wanting to be offensive. Not sure he really feels all that he's saying, but he's not the one to say anything controversial or stand-offish.

Maybe Marbury fills the GAP (_G_arnett, _A_llen, _P_ierce) in the Celtics.

And so it begins... the single cancer cell is introduced into an unexpecting locker room and spreads silently among its unknowing victims, bleeding them of heart and grit and replacing with spoiled, ranting selfish behaviour unfit for champions or swine...

Hey guys, this just in from the NBA, there have been serious discussions about a possible 3 way trade, which includes the Knicks, Blazers and Clippers. the trade will send former Knicks Marcus Camby and Channing Frye back to the Knicks along with Deandre Jordan from a trade exception, Jerryd Bayless and Jason Hart. The Trail Blazers will receive David Lee and Anthony Roberson from the Knicks and Brian Skinner and Ricky Davis from the Clippers. The Clippers will receive Quentin Richardson, Malik Rose and Sergio Rodriguez. One source has said the trade should be complete by next week. All salaries work out for all teams, So expect this trade to be complete. Stay Tuned.

Lostwill - that sounds like an interesting shuffle of players. The Knicks come out ahead simply because of Marcus Camby, who is the best all-around player in the entire mix.
However, where does Marbury fit in with this trade? Is it like musical chairs, with players from all three teams rotating to different places, and with Marbury being the "odd man out" ??

Marbury can still play and would help most teams, but with Rondo playing good ball and with Steph's attitude I dont think he would sit too long on the bench before he became a distraction.

Agree 100%. Allen has never played with Stephon, and ironically, he's the one who stands to lose the most by Stephon's shoot 1st mentality. It wouldn't take long at all for him to have to eat his words. I still believe this story is BS, because I don't think Walsh will release him in time to be playoff eligible.

Walsh will wait and play the game. Teams like Dallas, Chicago and Houston will need his expiring contract to have some form of future aspirations. Marbury has no choice in where he lands...
If desperation and common sense does not force one of those teams to trade for him..the Knicks will gladly release him after the trade deadline...or just have him stay home till his contract expires...

I'm not surprise that he would be welcome by Ray Allen at all.Everybody doesn't have the same sentiment as most of people on Fan Nation.Even I have a problem with the way he has conducted his self in the past. But what Marbury needs to do is concentrate on what he does best and that's play basketball rather than answering the media everytime they put a mic in his face.

Where did you get your information?Don't forget Donny Walsh is the Knicks GM ,he doesn't have that type of imagination to make a deal like that.I sure wish it is true that would good deal for Knicks.

He still can play. His play has never been questioned, his attitude has because it stinks. He makes 20 mil this season. For 20 mil I would **** and play or not play...and if wants to play for the celtics so bad, knock of 7 mil and take what they give and play for a ring

I hope that 3 way trade isn't completed.
Yeah Marbury fills the GAP and allows Boston to cruise to a second ring and then smiles all round, except on the faces of Kobe and LeBron.
