I have said that the 88 team needs a new direction. Dale jr. and Eury jr. have run their course and it's just not working on the track, it's time these two part ways and Dale jr. to start getting serious about his racing.

Perhaps, they are looking at this the wrong way. I would suggest changing the driver and keeping the crew chief. I just love that picture, he looks like the kid that took a needle to his big brothers condoms.

Prediction for 09. Same ole same ole. Jr will look tough and make the chase. When the chase starts he will disappear and end up in 12th.

I don't know what to think about HMS. They dumped Shrub for Jr, and that was bad. They dumped Mears for the semi retired Martin, for his last run. And then there's Gordon, who Robin Miller called "the new Kyle Petty, who's already won his last race" (regardless of who this weeks Crew Chief is).

And then on the other side of the shop, there's the 48 team with three Championships in a row.

From the sound of the comments today, I think the luster is wearing off Dale Jr.
Used to be his lovers would be all over this story, I think they are swapping to drivers with talent and not just a name.

I agree that jr and jr need to part ways.....I would love to see Jr with a better crew chief and if that does not make him win then I will give up on him.......as for now I am still hoping and cheering for him to do us fans proud.

Still a Jr fan... for now... I strongly agree with the article, and would love to see Eury off the pit box. I was hoping the move to HMS would signal the end of that relationship, but good ol boy Dale couldn't part with cuz.

Here's hoping Knauss decides he needs a challange and takes the role over for Eury.

My prediction is that if 2009 ends up the same or worse than 2008, change is coming whether Dale likes it or not. Hendrick is paying too much for slightly above average...

I will hold my faith in JR.
I still believe that he is a great driver with sub par direction.
I predict he will demand changes in 09, be it Eury, crew and whatever changes.
JR didn't go to HMS expecting to lose.
Changes are coming!

I could not agree more, I've said that last year. Tony eury jr is NOT a good crew chief. I just wish Dale jr, & Rick knew that!!!.

Martin is better than Mears is. From a marketing stanpoint, Jr. is more marketable than KB is. Robin Miller hasn't been getting any press (or maybe anything else for that matter) so he has to make the comment comparing JG to Kyle Petty. We're early into 2009 and Miller just made the dumbest comment of the year...at least til he opens his mouth again on "Wind Tunnel."
