Apparently, high school wide receivers are beginning to take note of the Kansas offense's passing prowess. KU received two oral commitments Sunday from three-star wide receivers -- one from Erick McGriff of Tampa, Fla., and another from Chris Omigie of Arlington, Texas. McGriff, the son of former major-league baseball star Fred McGriff, is rated the No. 49 receiver in the country by Rivals.com. He is 6 feet 4 and 190 pounds and chose KU over Troy, Auburn and Cincinnati. Omigie is 6 feet 5 and 195 pounds and chose KU over several other schools, including Ole Miss, Nebraska and Purdue. KU now has 21 known commitments in the 2009 class.

1. **** is that trophy? It looks like something the Mad Hatter dreamed up.

2. Ironic ad that appeared under Mangino's picture in this story (at least on my computer): "Secrets to a flat belly."

That trophy looks like what comes out of Mangino...and I mean the bidness end....

Without trying to knock the kid too hard, the fact that McGriff is from Tampa and not being recruited by UF, FSU, UM, or USF, tells you all you need to know about him.

FSU went 9-4 this season. KU went 8-5 this season.

FSU won a conference title as recently as 2005. KU won a conference title as recently as...uh...never?

FSU = Traditional powerhouse with 2 National Titles. KU = Traditional laughingstock that will NEVER win a National Title.

We would DEMOLISH Kansas on our WORST day.

As a graduate of KU and FSU, I am going to have to say "No".

I don't know if you noticed but last year, FSU was handled 40 - 21 by Virgina Tech. While KU played in a little thing called the Orange Bowl and beat those same VT Hokies.

As a Michigan alumni and KU supporter - I can tell you to tread lightly on Mangino following a 3 win season.

"Team A" beats "Team B". "Team B" then beats "Team C". "Team A" is, therefore, better than "Team C". This is flawed reasoning, but if I have to explain that to you, there's no point in us even having this conversation.

Your statement did, however, illustrate an important point for purposes of this discussion. Both of these programs are headed back towards their rightful places in the pantheon of college football. FSU, after several uncharacteristic years of mediocrity, is headed back to the top. KU, after a few uncharacteristic years of prosperity, is headed back into oblivion.

A study was recently conducted by the US Geological Survey which concluded that there is no area in North America with granite bedrock dense enough to sustain the combined weight of these two forces of nature. Hence they can never appear on the same field, or buffet line, simultaneously.

The two went scuba diving in the south Pacific and inadvertantly created the Mariana Trench. Dam near split the planet in two.

I heard a rumor that KS skirts the Big12 dress rule by hiding an extra two players in Mangina's Jowls

I don't care who you are that's funny right there.^^^

All weight jokes aside, I wonder how much attention he would get from other programs if he dropped about 100 lbs. He's a good coach. KU was horrible when he got there.
