Raiders may interview Robiskie

Could former Raiders assistant Terry Robiskie be returning to the family fold? It would seem unlikely, given how Raiders owner Al Davis (allegedly) didn't appreciate Robiskie leaving the team once upon a time. But, word around the NFL today is that the Falcons wide receivers coach could interview next for the Raiders' head coaching position. In the very least, a Robiskie interview would satisfy the Rooney Rule, which requires NFL teams to include at least one minority candidate in a head coaching search.

I'll take the job. All I would have to do is stand there and take the blame for the mistakes that Big Al makes.

Were you out pictures of Robiskie? You could have use done of his son from last night's Fiesta bowl game if you were in a pinch

Not a nice position to walk into. If only Davis would retire.........

Big Al wants an A** Kissin' yes man who will slobber all over his every move. Those with a set need not apply.

Seems like he has interviewed with the Raiders for all their frequent openings...

I hope the interview is just for the sake of satisfying the ridiculous Rooney Rule. He was once an OC no he is only a WR coach. What a joke.

Al Davis is the laughing stock of all football leagues.

Now don't forget, he was also the interim head coach for the redskins for 1 or 2 games. I got nothing against Robiskie, but Davis must be having a hard time getting applicants if he's going to interview Robiskie.

It's probably a Rooney Rule obligation. Didn't Jim Fassel send a letter to Al Davis asking for the HC job? If there's someone who actually wants to deal with Al Davis on a regular basis, I'm surprised he hasn't been hired yet. On the flip side, what does that say if you ask for the job no one else wants, and still don't get it?

hey look, Al wants to play this tired 60s style of play when its 2009 we have a 2009 QB 09" style of defense with a 60s style owner. its time to wake up BIG AL, we need to play in todays football style, yah i say we cause we as fans suffer thruogh these losses also. you pay these coaches to coach so let them and youll see the differince remember chucky?=) so why dontyou sign checks stick your nose in once in awhile and let them coach. thank you, as if.

The Rooney Rule has worked in the corporate, big business behemoth called the NFL. IF the NCAA put a similar rule in place (with some teeth) in the increasingly corporate, big business called college football, it would likely (if slowly) have the same effect. It won't destroy the good-ol'-boy network amongst boosters, but it will increasingly be marginalized by the need for on the field success over behind-the-scenes buddy-buddyism.

There isn't much that college football needs to borrow from the NFL but The Rooney Rule is definitely one of them.
