05:52 AM ET 01.06 | An absurd trade rumor hit the Knick locker room Sunday. It said the Knicks, Clippers and Blazers were involved in a three-team, 12-player trade that would be consummated next week. A newspaper referred to it as a "report," but it actually was a posted comment on a Knick blog by a person claiming to have ties with the Clippers. The deal had the Knicks getting Marcus Camby, Channing Frye, rookie DeAndre Jordan, Jerryd Bayless and Jason Hart. The Knicks would give up Quentin Richardson, Lee, Anthony Roberson and Malik Rose. Knick president Donnie Walsh said yesterday, "It is a fabrication. I have not had any discussions on this at all."

Get that boy Marbury included and the heck off that team. Trade him first and IF you can. I really hate to think that someone would want that boy.

Does Malik Ross even play anymore? And I can't see the Blazers wanting to get rid of Bayless cause they way he played in preseason, at that Rocky Mountain tournament thing, he was MVP I think? Anyway he's one for the future same with their other rookie, the French dude, Batum I think he's called.

The only good players worth anything in that trade are Frye and Bayless. Rest are scrubs, Richardson included, and Camby is getting older and always injured..

they way - the way

January 6, 2009  07:31 AM ET

No way this happens. Who are the clips getting back in this deal

January 6, 2009  07:34 AM ET

The Blazers would get Lee so I understand the deal. I know they'd love to keep Bayless but lets face it he is buried on the bench and hasn't really played that well when given opportunities. Who are the Clips getting back in this deal? Richardson, Rose, and Roberson? why would they give up Camby, and the Young big Jordan and a solid pg for those three scrubs,

January 6, 2009  07:39 AM ET

The Knicks need to get rid of Q. He only plays two quarters but the good thing is his contract expires at the end of 2010 so he will be gone regardless and yeah Chandler is 10 times better.

Like I said before it would be a good deal for Knicks, the Blazers would get their guy but as far as the Clippers it's not worth it.Maybe if the Knicks added D'Antoni bad back godson to the deal it would go through. Why didn't Donny Walsh acquire Camby in the Randolph deal?

Frye is Not 'good'
He's a servicable back-up forward... nothing more
lee is a MUCH better all around player than Frye
Bayless COULD be something- but until he gets PT- we won't know

Bunch of bad and expiring contracts moving but I don't see anybody's roster getting better.

It's true the Knicks are not getting equal value for Lee but the reality is if they do not do trade him by the trade deadline he will become a restricted free agent in the summer and he will sure get an offer we can not match.

Didn't Marbury do a blog last weekend?

i see i was quoted about my height comment on the knicks roster. "the suns didnt have a 6'9 player in their lineup in their good days" or something like that was the quote. last time i checked the suns had an almost 7 foot monster in amare stoudemire. the rumored deal now has expanded to include malik rose and roberson and the knicks would be getting bayless and deandre jordan. jordan was a project lottery selection he just needs some work. IF this trade is in the works and not a rumor get it done asap before the blazers come to their senses. (note clippers will never come to their senses)

The story was based on nothing but a rumor. Not sure how it got picked up and labeled as being credible.

I think Portland could regret trading away Bayless. Sure he is young, but needs some regular playing time. Already, he an excellent perimeter defender, can get to the basket at will, and is fearless. Don't trade him yet!!!!

I disagree. Lee rebounds and scores but he isn't skilled like Frye is. If Frye had Lee's playing time he could probably average around 16-20 points and like 6-8 rebounds. I agree Lee is probably a better rebounds but Frye is more skilled, better defensively and has a silky jumpshop which extends to three point land. Lee does not.

At this point I think the Knicks would trade just about anyone for pizza delivery driver just so they can get a shot a Lebron and another big name. Why just not get rid of everyone and have open tryouts and pay everyone the league minimum?
