Sixers consider trading Miller
Andre Miller likely will become one of the most valuable commodities in the league as the trade deadline approaches. He is in the final season of his contract, earning a little more than $10 million. The Sixers have between now and then to determine whether he is more valuable as a key piece in their immediate future or as a trade option.

The way their seaason is going they might as well trade him for some draft picks...

Man, Sixers are going downhill. Why would you trade a guy that has been a constant for the team. It's not Miller's fault that everybody is getting injured or the organization is not trying to make the team better.

but the organization just signed Brand to a MASSIVE deal-
Why are you ' blaming' the sixers
Bottom line is that if they are fading out of playoff contention
why not try and trade him for something.
he is an EXTREMELY desirable commodity-
a proven STABLE point, good size and an expiring contract
Portland should do ANYTHING to get this guy-
good vet leadership for their young team

By the trade deadline the Sixers will know where they stand. If they have no shot at making the playoffs, then they should deal Miller and try to pick up some draft picks or a young player in return.
Miller would be a solid contributor to a playoff bound team, so I would imagine that he would have some suitors.

What other point guard is out there for the Sixers to get unless they are just going to cut their losses and hope to "play well" in the second half to get into the Ricky Rubio/Brandon Jennings sweepstakes. Lou Williams, while a dynamic scorer, is not a true point guard in my opinion and without Cheeks to tutor him anymore he'll probably end up being another Jason Terry clone.
As for Miller I'm sure teams will line up for his services.

Why trade Miller?? Even during a re-building phase (which the sixers are clearly not in), a steady PG is what you need. Miller is as steady and consistent as they come. he still has a god 3-4 years in him. Keep him, and let everyone else get healthy/better.
I see absolutely no reason to get rid of him. All this talk about getting young talent is cliche. They HAVE younger talent. its the experience that they need.

what the sixers need is to go back and tear up the contract they gave to Elton Brand and Iggy. Elton has been nothing short of a disappointment and Iggy is the most overrated overpaid player in the league. Elton has lost a couple of steps in quickness and explosiveness and Iggy is not the "star" player they thought he would develop into. This is only going to spiral into a bigger mess as these players age. Trading Miller won't give them a playermaker at the wing which they need. the entire team has a shaky jumper.

Unfortunately losing Miller would ultimately cripple the Sixers long-term. A true point guard is not easy to find these days and Brand & Iguodala have eaten away any cap room the Sixers could use to sign a replacement. If I'm the Sixers, the only way I trade Miller is if I A) Get a young point-guard prospect back in the deal 2) Manage to move the rest of Samuel Dalembert's horrible deal in the process. Moving his deal and not resigning Miller should give the Sixers enough cap room to make on more foray into the market before they have to sign Thaddeus Young to a contract extension.

I dont understand how a team so promising as little as one season ago is making so many uneccesary changes they had the best coach for the job and they clipped him,and now youre going to trade off the one playyer that know the offense the best. Dumb move is written all over this if it happens.

Unless they're going to give up on the season, and "mail it in," the 6ers would be nuts to deal Miller. Either way, Miller should be very popular while they decide. I'm still pissed that he was dealt from the Cavaliers.

Most underrated point guard in the NBA for the last ten years. He could soldify that rockets starting five and make them legitimate contenders. Once McGrady gets his heart back anyway.

I agree that he would be good in Portland. As a sixers fan I wish that they had signed Smith instead of Brand, they would have EASILY the most athletic team in the league, imagine a fast break with Williams, Iguodala, Smith, Young and Dalembert.. HIGHLIGHT REEL DUNKS EVERYTIME!
Miller would also be nice in Houston, and he is very underrated, solid pro that does his job and doesn't cause a fuss - a rarity these days.

they should see where they're at by the trade deadline. If they're way out the playoff hunt and any good offers come along they should take them. Good PG help is hard to find.

they should only trade him, if he gives signs he's walking after this year. Good PG help is hard to find.

They were contenders with Raefer Alston so why swap him out now. The Rockets have a problem staying healthy. As far as Mcgrady and his quetionable heart, imagine a player giving 110% vyear in and year out playing trough the injuries you could and sitting on the ones you couldnt, getting to the playoffs and be bounced in the first round each time. Ive never been in that position but i can imagine after a few seasons of that it could affect player morale. Then you have Yao Ming alos getting hurt every year.Yes yall can make the arguement T-Mac is injury prone but how many time have you seen T-Mac on the court with a brace or wrap? He leaves it all on the court and has playe that way since I can remember, His injuries are alway pre exiasting and reoccuring and always get worse because he keeps playing. the end of his career may be rearing its ugly head, but the last thing anyone should call T-Mac is heartless.

They probably won't re-sign him this offseason, so its best to get something for him instead of losing him and getting nothing

While I can see that point, consider some teams still manage to keep the expensive guys (Arenas... sigh), so keeping him is conceivable.
But we'll see how it is the closer we get.
