Is this the same dude that snapped the ball into Jackson's ankle during a potential game tying drive with the Vikings?? Troy Aikman even said it was very unusual for an all pro center to do this.... I hope this isn't contributing to the Vikes seeking a quarterback.

January 7, 2009  08:09 AM ET

if their wise they wont let him go anywhere, the vikes need to keep everyone they have in-house and then get a QB and at that time they will be a "serious" contender

Oh Boy! A potential free agent MIGHT SIGN WITH A NEW TEAM?

Next...

January 7, 2009  09:29 AM ET

That'd be a good add for Arizona.

It's a slow news day...............

And 30 other teams will be interested too.

hope the bengals sign him. not that mike brown will pay more than league minimum for a free agent. birk could fix a lot of the issues with the bengals line.

The Bengals won't sign Birk - unless he gets arrested in the off-season first...

Vikings sooooooooo need a QB and have for years! I love AP but you can't run the same play every play! Hello they see it coming!

wow thats original and funny. you know the jags have more players arrested than most of the nfl over the past 2 seasons? bengals arent even in the top 20. perhaps your team should change their colors to prison orange.

January 7, 2009  01:00 PM ET

pw, do you even think mikey boy or any of the other "execs" in the bengals office knows who this guy is or that he is even a free agent?

i would love to get a center like this and give up on tj, but it wont happen.

January 7, 2009  01:02 PM ET

pw, do you think the mikey boy or the bengals "execs" even know who this dude is or that he is going to be available?

i want him, i would be willing to let tj go for him. but it will never happen, mikey is too busy counting his money and cutting coupons

January 7, 2009  01:29 PM ET

The Cardinals and 30 other NFL franchises. He is an All-Pro and one of the best centers in the league if not the best. For those who mentioned the low snap, how many All-Pro players have NEVER made a mistake in a game? If the Vikings release him he'll be signed in about 45 seconds.

January 7, 2009  01:45 PM ET

Vikes should keep him. Offer him the hometown discount.

January 7, 2009  03:26 PM ET

Good for the cardinals if they do. Def a team on the rise.

Totally agree. This guy is a consummate community leader and there has never been any question about his character or heart.
