Mets, Yankees top Garcia's list

07:01 AM ET 01.22 | According to a FOXsports.com report posted late Wednesday evening, the Mets and Yankees "have emerged as the leading contenders" for free-agent pitcher Freddy Garcia. Citing Major League sources, the report said that Garcia, a 33-year-old righty, has "pretty much narrowed it down" to the two teams, adding that two other teams might still be in the mix. The White Sox and Rangers have been recently linked to Garcia, who is said to be looking for a guaranteed contract that would allow him to be paid in the event that he didn't make the team with which he signs.
