10:12 AM ET 01.30 | Mo Williams tried to play it cool when it was announced Thursday that he had not been selected an All-Star reserve by the Eastern Conference coaches. But his teammates were outraged. "It's a tragedy," Ben Wallace said. "I think it's an injustice. It's a fraud. We've got the best record in the league, and we've only got one guy going. You always make it the next year, after the year you were supposed to make it. It's a travesty and a sham and a mockery. It's a shamockery." Said LeBron James: "It just shows the disrespect that basketball in Cleveland continues to get. I haven't seen the All-Star list yet, so I can't comment on who's in it. But it's definitely disrespectful that we continue to do work every year with nothing to show for it. They always say when you win, individual accolades will take care of itself. But sometimes it doesn't happen. "We all believe that Mo's an All-Star and the reason we've had the best record in the NBA right now. Mo's a big part of our team. Just look at the wins and losses from last year to this year with really only one addition - Mo Williams. I'm disappointed for him and disappointed for me because I tried to make sure he got in there by helping him get better."

I'm first!!! Well, Lebron I think it's a good thing. Too many super stars make for conflicts. A great team is often made up of role players who don't get the spotlight. That's just the way it is. Tony Kukoc and Rick Fox are some names from great dynasties that come to mind. It may be a good thing. Use that disrespect as motivation for the 2nd half. Not that you all need any.

So the prince crab dribbler is upset.
At least he made the allstar sellection so suck it up stop crab dribbling and beat the pistons on Sunday!

January 30, 2009  10:33 AM ET

Um LBJ- your team is a bunch of ROLE PLAYERS.
Mo is a very solid PG- but there are better ones ahead of him in the east- it's not 'disrespect' just FACT
-worry about geting back to the finals- not the useless AS game

January 30, 2009  10:34 AM ET

Its a shame, the biggest difference from this years success and last years is the addition of Mo Williams. The Cav's have the best record and only Lebron goes? its a shame that deserving players get overlooked especially players on the best team right now.

January 30, 2009  10:35 AM ET

Someone should tell Bron Bron, and this reporter for that matter, that the Cavs have the SECOND best record in the NBA...

January 30, 2009  10:42 AM ET

quite reasonable for them to feel "disrespected" since Orlando got 3 players who got selected. but that's the way it goes. There are more deserving players in the past who got snubbed.

don't feel bad Mo, just keep doing what you've been doing. hey the Jazz have no representative. Steve Nash who plays for the host didn't got in(probably because of the inclusion of Shaq). Al Jeff who's playing a fantastic year didn't got in.

January 30, 2009  10:45 AM ET

Well he can't come out and say 'Mo Williams is not the best Point Guard in the East so he doesn't deserve to be there if you ask me..' because what message would that send to teammates?!

He probably knows deep down that Mo isn't and all-star but can't voice that because he won't want to hurt his feelings or disrespect him.

January 30, 2009  10:46 AM ET

They actually have the 3rd best record in the league since they have the same record as the Lakers and the Lakers just beat the crap out of them by 20:) The fact is The Cavs can't beat the elite teams in the league! Look at the teams they have lost to. HORNETS, CELTICS, LAKERS, MAGIC, HAWKS, PISTONS. They are going to have to beat these teams, especially on the road if you think they can win the championship.

January 30, 2009  10:46 AM ET

I still can't believe Orlando got three in there though, but I'm glad Lewis is there because he is constantly one of the most underrated players in the NBA without doubt. Dude is 100% an all-star caliber player.

January 30, 2009  10:47 AM ET

His crying reminds me of why I hate playing at the Y.

January 30, 2009  11:00 AM ET

I'm not a Cleveland fan by any means (go Hawks) but they have a good argument. Anyone who thinks A. Iverson should have made the team over Mo Williams should not have, hasn't been watching the same season the rest of us have. It may hurt Williams that Lebron is so highly though of that he (Williams) may not be appreciated fully by those other than his teammates. Williams is also more of a complete player than Jameer Nelson who made for the Magic.

January 30, 2009  11:01 AM ET

Huge Cavs fan and Lebron Fan Here. I gotta say that Lebron's crying took them out of the game last night. He didnt get the foul calls, so he whined and stopped taking it to the basket. Then all the sudden, nothing but ugly jumpshots from the whole team from there on out. And now this. Mo is pretty good as is Jamir. Its a toss up, so why go running your mouth looking like a baby again? His antics are getting old, but then again, the guy gets hammered every time he gets to the paint. No free throws in an entire half? Come on.

January 30, 2009  11:03 AM ET

I'm going to play devil's advocate here. I don't look at is as disrespect simply because there are other players that deserve to be there and aren't. Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, O.J. Mayo to name a few. The fans voted for the starters. The reserves are opinion.

With no disrespect to Mo, but how many eastern conference players of the week has he had this year. Jameer Nelson has had 2 and is a big part of why the Magic look better this year, is he a Allstar well that is yet to be seen but you can't deny how he has played the first half of the season so get over Lebron.

January 30, 2009  11:28 AM ET

"Anyone who thinks A. Iverson should have made the team over Mo Williams should not have, hasn't been watching the same season the rest of us have."

AI was VOTED in....by the fans-
which is why FANS shouldn't vote.

Mo williams is good- but he isn't a top tier player in the NBA

January 30, 2009  11:38 AM ET

Chris Duhon is having a better year then Mo Williams and look who Duhon has to play with

yeah rashard's a good player but come crunch time, it's Hedo who's the more willing to take the big shots. and there's not that much between Hedo(17.2pts, 5.3rebs, 4.8asts) and rashard(19.3, 6.0 and 2.7). Lewis is the better shooter but Hedo knocks down big baskets down the stretch.

Rashard, A.I(voted as a starter) and Shaq are the "questionable" ones, in my opinion. Shaq is having a good year but he sits down on the 2nd game of back to backs.

Good call. You put it perfectly. Cleavland is nothing but ROLE PLAYERS. Mo isnt even a good one guard, he's better at the 2. Rondo, Harris, Nelson are better PGs. If it wasn't for LBJ cleavland would be garbage.

The fans should vote but the choices should be picked by the coaches, media etc.

the choices should be around 10-16 legitimate players per conference. No Bruce Bowens, Samuel Dalemberts, Yi Jianlians...
