06:22 AM ET 02.03 | Scientific tests have linked Roger Clemens's DNA to blood in syringes that a personal trainer says he used to inject the former star pitcher with performance-enhancing drugs, according to two sources familiar with the investigation. The DNA results, preliminary and subject to verification tests, could prove critical if prosecutors seek an indictment of Clemens on charges he lied about the use of steroids, according to the sources.

Whoa. I'm shocked!!

Why not just legalize steroid use in baseball. I'm tired of reading about all the accusations the tainted records etc. etc. Tear up the record books. Have the team doctors line them up, shoot em in the butts with a big needle of juice and watch a bunch of spoiled overpaid cry babies with giant arms and heads play homerun derby. Might be kinda fun.

There is no doubt he did steroids but how can this type of evidence really stand up in court. No chain of custody could just be manufactured like Clemens lawyer says. Macnamee and Clemens are both trash. Lock them both up.

They should just start an alternate league.
Instead of "League of Extraordinary Gentleman' they could call it 'League of Extraordinary Huge Heads'

No but it will get many. The baseball chanel showed the 86 world series recently and the change in appearance is pretty stunning. Sure most of us gain weight as we get older but his gain is still a lot for a pictcher.

He'll still shred them. As long as it takes.

Excellent choice there.

I just hope he becomes as villified as Bonds. He lied just like Bonds for years saying he wasn't involved and so I hope all involved scrutinize him just as much.

If this evidence is actually there and is provable (not sure if that is a word), he will be. One difference is that Clemens doesn't hold the records that bonds does.

Let it go already, the man is the greatest of all time. So he could recover quicker, and have a couple extra years of playing from the stuff, big deal. I repeat THE BEST EVER

February 3, 2009  08:38 AM ET

We all think it's true, but it is the NY Post reporting it. Hmmm..... I'll wait until a legitimate news source reports it.

He won't be as vilified because he didn't break any real records. Sure he hit milestones but he was always nice to the media and was forever involved in kids charities. The 15 year old singer not included of course. Bonds was always a disagreeable turd with just about everyone.

Clemens never denied that he was injected by MacNamee, so this should not come as a big suprise. The question is what was in the syringes?

I think we should take it a step further. I want to see the best baseball possible so make HGH and steriods mandatory. If you don't grow a hat size a year you just aint trying.

Good point. Is there evidence of steriods in the needles and if so couldn't Mcnamee have placed them there later? I think he's as guilty as can be but his lawyer can make that argument. It's a federal case so they probably have TONS more evidence. The Feds take a long time to gather evidence before going to trial. If they think there's a chance they can lose they generally lay off until they have more.
