Big East Commish: Rutgers must get better
It seems that even the Big East commissioner isn't expecting good things in the future for Rutgers men's basketball coach Fred Hill. The league's head honcho, Mike Tranghese spoke about a number of Big East basketball issues Tuesday afternoon on Chris Russo's SIRIUS/XM Radio program, "Mad Dog Unleashed." After discussing next month's conference tournament and the league's postseason tournament hopes, Russo asked Tranghese about what was wrong with the Rutgers program currently. "Well, they gotta get better," Tranghese said. "I sound like I'm making excuses and I know this is a hard league, but they don't have an athletic director at Rutgers. They are in the process of naming someone and I would think that down the road, everybody's go to win. "If you don't win, you're going to make changes. Our coaches are being paid a significant amount of money. This is a hard league to coach in, but I don't see any administration staying with any coach for a long period of time when they are winning zero, one, two three or four games." The Scarlet Knights are currently 10-17 overall and 1-13 in the Big East conference with its only win coming against DePaul, which is winless in the league.

Man speaks the truth but there are a lot of teams in the Big East that need to get better. It's a very deep league, granted, but there are teams who can't compete right now.
