Cutler believes he still may be traded

The biggest question in Broncoland: Did Josh McDaniels at least entertain moving Jay Cutler because he wanted Matt Cassel to help him move the Patriots' offensive system to Denver? Or does McDaniels want to move Cutler? Cutler believes he may still be trade bait. But while several reports quoted sources saying it was McDaniels who initiated the Cassel-Cutler trade proposal, only McDaniels put his name behind his comment. "We don't want to trade Jay," McDaniels said Saturday. "We never did. He's our quarterback." Expect other NFL coaches and GMs to test McDaniels' resolve. An NFL source said the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings also expressed interest in Cutler. But it's unlikely the cash-strapped Broncos would want the Lions' No. 1 overall draft pick, because that slot would command a minimum $30 million guarantee. The Vikings, however, have a terrific defense and the league's best running back in Adrian Peterson. With all due respect to the recently acquired Sage Rosenfels, the Vikings may consider Cutler, who threw for 4,525 yards last season, as a final piece to becoming a Super Bowl contender. Most significant NFL trades are made on the first day of the draft. The threat of a Cutler trade probably won't dissolve until the draft's second day, April 26.

I am thankful that this trade rumor means 1) Lions dont end up with Cassel, and 2) Lions must not be too high on Stafford. Best news for a Lions fan in a while!

Build from the inside out.

As much as I wish this to be true...... Its not. They wanted Cassel but now that he is a Cheif there is no longer any reason to trade him (although I dont think they should have anyways) But if it is true Id love to have Cutler play for my Lions but the chances ar about 0%

Too much invested in Rosenfels to make him a backup already.

As a Raider Fan, I just love this story...Turmoil in Denver

why in the world would you give up on a young franchise QB-
they don't grow on trees....

Matt Cassell had a great year- but was on a GREAT team
with a top coach.....who knows how he'll do when he's not
under belichek

I wonder if he still believes in Santa?? Or better yet....I also wonder if he believes that Dallas is a legitimate franchise as well......

:))))))))))

Cutler is more upset about leaving the AFC West. His crush on Philip Rivers has him yearning to stay so he can see him twice a year!!

Jay doesn't even want to meet with team officials, his feelings are really hurt.

Here is an opportunity for the Jets to come in and trade for Cutler (if they have the cap room).

Why not they took Bret

March 2, 2009  09:35 AM ET

Vince is done, Linert too,,, why the hell won't someone take the greatest qb( in his own mind) Grossman?

March 2, 2009  09:38 AM ET

too much invested in rosenfels?? a 4th round draft pick is too much?!?!! too much over a pro bowl qb?! that's crazy talk. the article said "with all due respect to rosenfells..." WHAT respect is due to him from the vikings as their qb? the guy hasn't even taken a rep in practice or spring training, let alone for a real game? what respect is due to him as a player for the vikings?

if the vikings can make a move to get cutler, they must do it. then they're an o-lineman and a cornerback only from a championship, and they may even have enough to win it all without him, especially if they sign houshmandzadeh (or however you spell that name).
