I can't remember the last time a recruit was so publicly hung up on a jersey number.

I honestly don't hate USC as much as you would think. Pete Carroll cracks me up. He gets the top players in the country and, with them, wins a lot of games against great teams. The problem is, he can't seems to get by the Stanfords, UCLAs and Oregon Sts of the world. Because of this, he plays in the Rose Bowl and not Championship game. While the Rose Bowl is great, it's not the championship game. And, because the Trojans lose to crappy teams, they get left out of the NC and Coach Carroll wants a playoff. If his team was IN the NC game every year like it probably SHOULD be, based on the talent that they have, I'm sure he wouldn't be bothered by the playoff and the risk that his Trojans might get knocked off.

I remember in 2003 when USC was crying foul on being left out of the NC game and they hated the BCS. But in 2004 when they went to the NC game and Auburn was left out everything was great.

Oh well, maybe their conference will one day support a playoff system.

A lot of this is associated with (1) jealousy and (2) a perception that USC is arrogant which is mostly the fault of how they're portrayed in the national media outlets. I sometimes travel to California and when I listen to the local media and spend some time with the local people I get a different perspective on USC (and UCLA). At least that's my experience.

Yeah I would have thought he would support his player a little more. He certainly came across as selfish and self serving that day. That was Mark's day, a day he probably dreamed about all of his life, and PC ruined it.

Lets be fair KF... The SEC did its fair share of whining when Auburn was left out of the title game... It's not exclusive to us... And just so you know.... Virtually everyone out here is in favor of dropping the Pac 10-Big 10 Rose Bowl thing... To put together the better possibility of a true NC game... I just hope our new commish gets it done

If they're going to run story about USC every day, FanNation needs to find another pic of Pete Carroll. This one is getting a bit overused. Looks like he's doing a Subway 5 Dollar Foot Long commercial.
