Schiano has 'no idea' on Rutgers QB

Rutgers' top priority for the start of spring football practice on Tuesday became obvious the moment Mike Teel threw his last college pass in December. But the search for a new quarterback took on a heightened sense of urgency Friday when the schedule for this fall was released. The Scarlet Knights' season opener is against defending Big East champion Cincinnati. That means no easing into the role as Teel's replacement -- whoever that winds up being -- against the likes of Howard. Three quarterbacks with a total of eight pass attempts during their Rutgers careers (all of those belonging to fifth-year senior Domenic Natale) will look to make an impression this spring. Natale and redshirt freshmen D.C. Jefferson and Steve Shimko have an advantage that fellow competitors Jabu Lovelace and Tom Savage don't. They are healthy and available for spring practice. Lovelace, a fifth-year senior and the most experienced quarterback on the roster, will be limited to rehab work this spring as he recovers from a second ankle surgery after being limited to two games last season because of the injury. Savage is still finishing his senior year at Cardinal O'Hara (Pa.) High School and will enroll at Rutgers in June. Coach Greg Schiano says he has "no idea" how it will all play out.

Teel leaving is probably going to help RU out since he was the least consistent QB in football

But, Rutgers will still suck

Rutgers is a team on the rise. Savage will finish the year as the starter and Schiano will be happy to have his mega-recruit be the face of the program.

Savage is most likely gonna be red shirted, and hopefully DC Jefferson gets the nod. I wanna see what this kid can do. Oh Aloy, Rutgers will be in a BCS bowl this year, mark it down.

On the rise? Were you on an island without communications last fall?

Schiano should have went to Michigan when he had the chance. Football is not a priority at Rutgers.
