Well, the kid already has shown he is not very smart. Oregon is the worst team in the Pac-10. Which I guess means lots of playing time and also lots of L's. Should have went to Mich St.

Playing time must be a major factor here... Kent is going to get canned... Hope this kid made the right decision

Come on Ernie...shuck and jive!

This kid got some bad advice.... Oregon isn't the team to enhance his talent.... Why would he pick Oregon? gotta wonder WHY? If he wants to go to the pros Oregon just doesn't cut it!

You gotta wonder WHY J.Wilson would pick Oregon over the likes of Michigan State.... If he wants to move up to the pros..Oregon Isn't going to teach him the skills he'll need. He got very poor advice or no advice at all....

Oregon's gotten closer to being in the Final FOur over the last three years than Michigan State. If it weren't for Florida, they would've been there.

Oregon has an amazing fan base, is opening a state of the art facility very soon, is completely backed by Nike and was in the Elite 8 two years ago. Thats probably why he chose the PAc-10. Or he watches Big Ten games and realizes how boring they are. Big 11 is the most overrated, untalented conference in BBall and Football. The Ducks may have struggled in league but, did beat Alabama, KState and Long Beach State (all of which will be dancing).

you're right. we are the worst team in the pac-10 THIS YEAR. but he won't be playing here THIS YEAR.
we had three main players who were seniors graduate. we are two years removed from elite 8 appearance and made the ncaa tournament last year as well.
the team is very very young and we are playing lots of freshmen. another in-state recruit, singler's (duke) younger brother, also recently signed with oregon as well.
and as mentioned here by another poster, we'll soon have a brand new arena and we always have nike money, nice facilities.
i look at it as he wants to be part of a program headed in the right direction and be part of a team that will be darn good in a year or two when the freshmen, and the incoming recruits, grow up a bit and get some experience.

What do you arm chair QB's know?

March 9, 2009  05:47 PM ET

#10: Um...Alabama will not be dancing in anything but -- maybe -- the NIT (and perhaps they are still dancing on the court at Thomson Boling Arena after that shot yesterday). KSU likely there, too. The Ducks are really bad and only got worse. That said, Oregon preferreable to Michigan (the state) and Texas might be Texas, but their fans are easily the least knowledgable and unappreciative of basketball in the country.

Luke Jackson
Luke Ridnour
Fred Jones
Aaron Brooks
Malik Hairston

all on nba rosters this year.

yeah, oregon just won't cut it if he wants to make the pros. dork!
do you ever check the facts before you post something or do you just believe there's nothing west of the mississippi but cowboys, buffalo and sagebrush? again....dork!

13 you're an idiot. 10 is right. Oregon is a very very young team, that is starting mostly freshman. Uconn went through the same thing a couple of years ago (not quite as bad though I must say) when Hasheem Thabeet first got there. Now that Ernie got this guy, there is no way they are going to fire him. I say this because Belotti still might become AD of UO within this year so firing Kent would make the program unstable and the recruits likely to bolt. If Kent doesn't get this team turned around within the next couple of years, he might as well just quit. I have faith he will though.

Although I find it Surprising that he chose UO over Michigan State and Texas does surprise me a little, but I believe he will be able to thrive in a little bit less competitive environment then if he went to the latter instead. Oregon May not have the prestige, but clearly (#13) neither does Mizzou.

They'vwe got a pretty young nucleus that'll be good in a couple years if Dunnigan stays around til his junior and senior year.

March 9, 2009  08:18 PM ET

What a bunch of ahole comments. How good did you expect Oregon to be after losing 4 starting seniors? Oregon has gone to the round of 8 twice in the last few years for you experts' info, much better than some heralded programs. Tghis kid should play immediately at Oregon.

Oregon may be young but so is MSU, ask Lucas (soph) Big 10 POTY, Summers (soph) filled in for raymar very admirably, Roe (Fr) big 10 all freshman team, oh and u want to call the big 10 overrated, look at the last 10 final fours 8 big 10 appearances 5 pac 10 and of that 5 3 were UCLA, so unless your in the ACC or the big east (which is strong at the top but pitiful at the bottom) don't call the big 10 overrated
