Tennessee junior quarterback Nick Stephens is out of action for three to four weeks with a wrist fracture. Stephens is expected to miss approximately half of spring practice, which begins Tuesday. It is unclear how the injury occurred. It is thought that Stephens injured his right, throwing wrist. Stephens is competing with senior Jonathan Crompton and sophomore B.J. Coleman for playing time this fall. Stephens was UT's highest-rated passer last season, completing 63 of 130 passes for 840 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw four interceptions.

If only Marlon Brown's grandmother hadn't told Stephens to do this

It looks like Kiffin's Vols are cracking under the pressure.

Must have broken it ripping off his shirt.

...and all the shiznit Kiffin's been talking and his QB's not 100%? Gator fans and the rest of the SEC are licking their chops.

Another body blow......

You're going to need a lot of smelling salts to survive this season........

Maybe Kiffin will pick an SEC team to BLAME this on.....

Obviously, Urban Meyer called during practice and the QB broke his wrist trying to answer so he could beg Meyer to get him out of Knoxville

Sounds like a repetative motion stress fracture.

March 9, 2009  12:47 PM ET

This article is a complete lie am I am ashamed that all you other SEC fans cant see it for that...............real SEC fans know that TN doesnt even HAVE a QB to get hurt!

What are you afraid of, his eye-watering stats?

The Kitten has shown the ability to get the most out of the least available (Look what he was able to do in such a short period with the Raiders). UT has the least available at QB, therefore, I am expecting the most from this position.

Non-football related injury?

Always date your "NON" throwing hand (and resist the urge for some strange)

March 9, 2009  02:22 PM ET

Tough break. As bad as Tennessee's QB's were last season, Kiffin needs them all healthy so that he can pick the guy he wants go with.

March 9, 2009  02:25 PM ET

They need to go with Crompton as the starter. He has more experience and showed flashes of skill at points.

Scared of sizing their National Championship rings?

Why?

What have they done that would be scary to anyone outside of South Bend?
