Robert Marve's father, Eugene Marve, said Oklahoma State told Eugene it stopped recruiting Marve because of negative feedback from Miami. (UM denies criticizing Marve.) ''Robert was very hurt,'' Eugene said, adding that his son will choose among Michigan, UCLA, Oklahoma, Purdue, Texas Tech and USF.

This is a bitter divorce. The best thing for the Marves to do is to keep quiet and get the boy in school, somewhere, anywhere.

You know what really hurt Marve in the eyes of other schools? Video tape!!!

March 11, 2009  08:13 AM ET

Marve's dad seems to be a cancer and part of the reason why Okie State stopped recruiting him. Do you really expect the job you got fired from to say only wonderful things about you?

March 11, 2009  08:14 AM ET

I just noticed and promise no pun was intended about his dad having cancer.

March 11, 2009  08:45 AM ET

If this guy has any talent (I don't know) but Norm Chow at UCLA could make hime very good; so please go elsewhere (LOL).

Wait Eugene,

I thought your son left miami to come play closer to home because you had cancer? Thats what you said anyway. Those schools seem to be rather far away??? (except USF, obviously)

You and your son are both cancers, and i feel bad for whatever team signs him.

March 11, 2009  09:43 AM ET

BTW - hes just trying to keep his name in the papers..

March 11, 2009  09:43 AM ET

One more thing, the truth hurts sometimes doesnt it?

March 11, 2009  09:46 AM ET

When the occasion of you to open yor mouth in every case turns out to be bad press, you might want to think about not giving statements.

Told you he wasn't coming to UF.

Looks like you guys made the right call to cut and run.

If he's gonna be the QB at a major school, he better grow thicker skin real quick.

March 11, 2009  10:57 AM ET

Michigan? That must be news to Michigan because from all that I know no place that covres UM football like the **** on a sack haven't brought up his name at all. That is, unless it's been under cover. But I doubt this kid transfers to Michigan.

March 11, 2009  11:44 AM ET

at oklahoma he would have to sit behind bradford for one season, michigan he probably wouldn't start.
the only schools i could see him going to because of lack of depth at QB is UCLA, Texas tech or purdue. if i was him i would go to tech the offense lets QB put up big numbers each year and plus no harrell but there is no crabtree

You do realize he has to sit for one season regardless due to transfer rules and FYI Bradford is gone after this season.

Did anyone think the bad mouthing from OSU came from ex cane coach Bill Young? I am sure he knows the Robert Marve situation all too well.

March 11, 2009  12:21 PM ET

If I was a coach, I'd have to be in pretty dire straights to want this guy on my team.

Exactly.

Good advice for the new coach in knoxville, too.

March 11, 2009  12:40 PM ET

Marve is a punk, he is done playing football. He is not good and he is a nightmare.

March 11, 2009  12:40 PM ET

Uhhhhhhhhh......

Shut your mouth? Marves?

March 11, 2009  01:19 PM ET

The Marve's are clearly not the most truthful family. The whole heart string tug a months ago was the U was so bad because it was preventing Robert from being close to ailing family. UCLA is really close to Florida. Texas Tech too. Heck, Robert needs to go to prep school and learn geography.

Well, except for me not spelling "your" correctly. I'm a horrible typist and leave out letters all the time due to not punching the key hard enough.

And I was also thinking of Kiffin when I wrote that. But I did not add it.
