05:45 AM ET 03.23 | If Plaxico Burress doesn't get thrown in jail on gun charges, the Giants have decided to give him another chance, GM Jerry Reese told the Daily News at the league meetings Sunday. Reese, who said the legal process is what's most important for Burress now, said he and Tom Coughlin and the rest of the organization are "on board" with the plan to allow Burress to return as long as he agrees to play by the same rules as the other players on the team. That means showing up on time, not skipping treatment sessions and being responsible. Reese made it clear that Burress has signed off on that stipulation in the conversations they've had.

If Plax escapes both jail time and an nfl suspension then he should consider a new career as the next Chris Angel.

If he DOES escape jail, the Gianst should just take him back and try to move on.

"That means showing up on time, not skipping treatment sessions and being responsible."

HA HA HA! Yeah, right, good one.

listerine kills plax and prevents gingivitis...lol

March 23, 2009  07:42 AM ET

That's good.....the man isn't charles manson.....they need'em...

They said this a month ago. It is up to the courts and any suspension handed down by the league. Will be curious to see what Stallworth gets. Maybe I am being biased here for a Giants player, but one seems a lot bigger crime than the other.

AMEN!

Is Plax's gun allowed in the facility, too? Plax can't go anywhere without risking the possibility of shooting himself in the leg....or A$$.

March 23, 2009  08:29 AM ET

I think if Palx were to come back....he should get a standing ovation.....meaning the g-men have a chance for multi-TD games......

March 23, 2009  08:36 AM ET

A standing ovation? Okay, but only if they point their foam 'We're #1 fingers' at him and shout, "BANG!".

If he does I hope they get it on tape 'cause I'd like to see it and laugh along with him. :)

Burress is pretty much the only guy on the giants who can catch Eli's 'vaseline' ball he throws.....

I doubt most would be laughing with him.....

March 23, 2009  08:49 AM ET

of course they want him back-
he's the only receiver big enough to go up, backwards, left, right
for all of Eli's inaccurate throws

sure it isn't "I'm gonna get you sucka" theme music?

I think its obvious unless they want Eli to look like just another average QB, then they NEED Plax. He's Eli's bailout plan...whenever things get a little too tough for the QB he can just heave it up to the big man.

I can't believe Eli can't learn how to throw a shallow spiral pass.......his deep ball is fine...but those short throws are awful.....
