08:05 AM ET 03.23 | Texas hooked a big catch for its 2010 football recruiting class on Friday, receiving a commitment from Haltom High defensive end Reggie Wilson, who's ranked by one scouting service as the second-best defensive lineman in the country. The 6-foot-4-inch, 240-pound Wilson is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 20 prospect nationally, regardless of position. He became the highest-ranked player to commit to the Longhorns for the 2010 season. Wilson is the 21st player to commit to Texas for the 2010 recruiting class. The group includes seven players ranked among the nation's top 100 recruits.

We've seen this before. Let's actually call this news when the recruit SIGNS in 11 months. Talk is cheap.

Lol. T&R would have us to think so.

Why are Gator fans so bitter about this? Didn't you guys just win a NC? Sheesh.

March 23, 2009  12:30 PM ET

Hey Gator fans, you all know it was a gift (politics) to be in the Championship game against # 2 Big 12 team. Now you want to make fun of the best college coach. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Not making fun, or bitter you bunch of over-sensitive pansies. For the last month or so all that has been said about UT was that your 2010 class is locked up.

Take a midol.

It's only politics because you were left out. Fact is we would have been there no matter what happened between you and OK.

I hope there are some less vagisil soaked UT fans out there.

Guess we know which will be the lurkers' choice today.

Bubba, can you bring us some good cheer?

Mack's doing a hell of a job. He's always gotten early commitments, and now he doesn't seem to be losing much top talent from the Texas HS system to other Big 12 schools (like OU). I'm pretty excited about the next several seasons. Can it be 9/19/2009 soon?

March 23, 2009  01:08 PM ET

To the Florida fans:

Congratulations on a successful season. Utah, USC and Texas probably wish there had been a real playoff system, but what's done is done and there's no point whining about any "ifs". We'll see what happens in 2009. Texas may not get to the NC game, may not win the game if it gets there, but I like our chances as well as anyone's.

And I want for Jerry Jones to throw Wade under the bus and steal your coach.

There are. There seem to be quite a bit (maybe too many) which fuels to perception of whining, but most of us are way past it and looking forward to a good year in 09.

Every recruit is from TEXAS, because that's where we live and die. TEXAS!!!!!

I think you guys are very in a good position for a special season next year. Especially if you find a running back not named Colt McCoy. He is good, but he needs some help on the ground.

Some of us no longer live there. Pursuing paychecks in the grown up world sometimes requires relocating. Still a diehard fan, though. Makes me really popular out here in ACC country.

Do you play GA next year? If so, best of luck in that game. Best of luck to anyone and everyone playing GA. Not that I would hold a grudge, but they got away with a very obvious (as in we think they paid off the officials) hold at the end of a bowl game some 20 or so years back, costing Texas what should have been a national championship. But I don't hold a grudge. Hell no.

Oh I get it, you're saying we're feminine. What a genius concept, calling men women. Brilliant!!! Do mind if I use this pattern of insults? You are truly one of the great minds of our time, and your creativity astounds me. Ground-breaking, simply ground-breaking!

Oh wow, here's another one. I wonder sir, does your obsession with female menstrual issues mean that you are a gynecologist by trade? The only other type of pple this obsessed with all things ****, are those who don't have any experience with one. You definitely aren't one of those are you?

This started out as an article about Reggie Wilson from Haltom City. Anybody out there from the Fort Worth area? Anyone see the kid play? Does he look as promising as we're told?
