Pitino rumored candidate for Arizona job
Of course Rick Pitino's name has been bandied about out in Tucson, where the University of Arizona is in the midst of a truly strange deal. "To be honest with you, I'm glad I'm not living on the West Coast because I haven't heard any of that," a laughing Pitino said. "I heard a little bit more about Boston University wanting me back where I started. I hope they settle for my son." Richard Pitino, 27, is an assistant at Louisville, already following in his father's designer shoe footsteps.

Pitino on the move? Never! He is a loyal, stick to one team kind of guy - just look at his record.

Ever notice how close the names Pitino and Petrino are? Makes you wonder if it IS all in the name.

I find it difficult to believe that he would leave Louisville

Has anyone won titles at 3 different schools? That would be an incentive.

Actually a very nice point. I had failed to consider that that could be a motive. It does not change my mind, but it is an interesting point to consider.

Of course that would be assuming he wins one at Louis right?

I'm moving to Tucson, AZ next year...he can stay with us until he finds a nice place down there!

If my bracket pans out he will.

FYI, he's only won a title at Kentucky. He's taken three different schools to the Final Four (Providence, KY, Louisville), but won 'ship once ('96).

I realize that. I'm sayin if he wins this year.

It will only be two, not three.

FYI, please reread comments 8-13. I am saying that if he wins this year, he has the chance to go to Arizona and win with three different teams, which I don't believe has been done. That would be an incintive to give it some thought. If you want to correct me, find a coach who has won with three teams, as I don't care enough to research that claim.

I want to dismiss this but Arizona could entice him enough. The guy like challenges, so I wouldn't expect to see him stay at Louisville forever.
