Can Memphis hold on to PG recruit?
Memphis is still the leader for Raleigh Word of God basketball point guard John Wall. The 6-foot-4 point guard visited Duke on Sunday and he said he learned a lot about the Duke program from Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski. "It was great to meet Coach K and talk him to him," Wall said Monday night. "Everybody is always saying what he says or what he thinks, but I was good to talk to him and get the answers to my questions. "He showed me around campus and we were able to talk very frankly. I learned a lot about the program." Wall said Krzyzewski told him that Duke program would use him in an offense similar to the one used by the Blue Devils when Jason Williams was the point guard. "He told me the program had not had a point guard in a while that could penetrate and create," Wall said. "Duke has lots of great players and players who can really score. I would be surrounded by great players there." Wall said Memphis is still his leader, even though there are questions about head coach John Calipari's interest in the Kentucky head coaching job.

I will listen only to the Raleigh Word of God. The Durham Word of God is in tongues, and therefore, indecipherable.

Way to go coach. Just what the guards you recruited lately want to hear. If I am the recruit, I turn and run. If you would sell your past players out like that, then that would tell me all I need to know.......

I think this kid follows Calipari to Kentucky. Calipari has a pretty decent track record with point guards who like to score with the ball.
He coached A.I. in the pros and had DaJuan Wagner, Derrick Rose and this past season Tyreke Evans at Memphis.

He never coached A.I. He only coached the Nets in the NBA.

Memphis will lose all of their recruits. As soon as Calapari leaves why would you want to play for Memphis? He won't be there to pay them.

Wrong. He was an assistant to Larry Brown in Philadelphia from 1999-2000. That year A.I. averaged 28 points and just under 5 assists.

"He told me the program had failed to recruit a point guard in a while that could actually play the position," Wall said. "Duke has lots of really nice boys and players who can really slap the floor. I would be surrounded by fine student-athletes who are successful in life there. So I'll probably go to Memphis."

Being from Ky, and I can't stand their ****, I think that Calapari will do a great job there....He'll probably steal some of his recruits as well. I mean who goes to school these days for school, it's an audition for the next level.....and KY is a lot bigger stage for some of those kids to audition on....It's just a fact a life...should we be mad at the kids that want out of their committments if this kid decides to stay with Memphis I'll be shocked....Evans is leaving and Duke is probably looking better every minute......

I'm sad to see coach Cal go, although nobody stay s forever. I want to know if Memphis plays in such a horrible conference and year after year Memphis is labeled "over-rated", then why in the world does anyone (much less Kentucky) want our coach and the players he has recruited?

so then who was the better point guard since Jason Williams? One that could drive and create like he did?
