The hypocrisy of Tim Floyd

Tim Floyd, who took USC's basketball program to new heights, was offered the Arizona job Wednesday, a source familiar with the situation said. The source, who asked to remain anonymous as he was not authorized to speak about the situation, said that Floyd met with Arizona Athletic Director Jim Livengood and was offered the position. Floyd is believed to have 24 hours to make a decision. Arizona asked for permission to speak with Floyd on Tuesday. At the team banquet that night, Floyd gave an impassioned speech to players about staying at USC to win a national title, and not jumping to the NBA. He flew off to interview at Arizona on Wednesday.

Hope he brings his recruits with him

That's kind of funny actually...hey, kids stay in school, stay at USC, you can win a championship. And my 'Zona Wildcats are gonna try to stop you.

Nice job Timmy Floyd.

Well, in basketball that is a step up so I can't blame him for that. I've heard he is an outdoorsman so LA probably isn't the place for him anyway.

This SOB. I realize Arizona is a plum job, and he would almost be nuts not to accept it. But don't go running your mouth about staying (remember when you said this would be your last job???) right before you catch a plane out of town. ****

at least he didn't call them and ask them to stay - from the plane

I am guessing that he ran through all the Song Girls so it is time to move on...Maybe Hef will send Nicole Narain to try and talk him out of it...? She sure got Andrew Bynum back on his feet...!

...and you can't in Miami, eh? CSI Miami is one of my favorites.

wow- not sure why Arizona would want him-
he's CLEARLY dirty (recruiting -wise) & Arizona doesn't need that
type of headache when you're a primo job (see Indiana & Sampson)

LOL. Exactly, I thought I was the only person that heard him say that "USC will be my last coaching job." Anyway, they might as well have hired Kelvin Sampson or at least let Pete Carroll interview.(JOKE) Livengood has got to be kidding, I thought this was an April Fool's joke when it ran across the ESPN ticker yesterday. I can see NCAA sanctions now.

USC reached new heights? under Floyd? They've made it to one sweet 16....even Henry Bibby did that. With the talend he's had at $C this guys has underachieved. I can't blame him though, why play in a half empty galen center when you can play in front of a full arena in Arizona. He'll be the man there while at $C he's always gonna be irrelevant. $C is a football school and everyone knows the best hoops team in L.A. is UCLA. Better to get out of Ben Howland's shadow.

GB, I posted this article over on the Message Board for B-I-G to read, waiting to see what she says, considering how she feels about Urban Meyer, Lou Saban, etc and how they handled this type of situation.

or from the podium when he's being introduced as the new coach.
