Sources: USC trio going pro
USC's basketball team is expected to have an entirely different look next season, as forward DeMar DeRozan, forward Taj Gibson and guard Daniel Hackett have all decided to make themselves available for the NBA draft, according to multiple sources. Hackett, a junior, will hire an agent, which will make his decision irrevocable, but Gibson, also a junior, will not, according to a source familiar with the USC program. The source asked for anonymity as he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Taj Gibson, I believe is 23 so going now isn't a bad move for him. It's a bad move for DeRozan but he's young and athletic so I'm sure he can get some GM to give him a promise to stay in the draft.
Not so sure about Hackett, but good luck to him.

Of these 3, Hackett leaving affects us the least. I am praying Gibson and DeRozan stay. With the recruits we have coming in, next year could be a great year. Just going to keep my fingers crossed.

With the recruits you have coming in there is gonna be a log jam at the 2 and 3 position, wth are you talking about? LOL. The guy you're gonna need the most out of the 3 is Taj. Hackett is out of his mind though hiring an agent, I don't think he's THAT good but whatever. It's just evidence of a weak draft.

I won't disagre with you-
other than Blake and maybe thabeet if he really develops >>
I don't see a ton of MAJOR impact players...
But I think there actually is some decent talent in the draft that
will make nice additions to teams looking for 4th or 5th starters
or bench guys....

Taj is decent, but like jgb said, the only real impacts in the league will be Blake Griffin, and MAYBE thabeet.

He is definitely bringing in the talent. I hate to see 3 players leave early for the draft for USC's sakes. But for players I wish them the best of luck.

Taj was strongly considering the move last year which would have been a mistake of EPIC proportions. DeMar was never going to be more than a 1 year guy, and Hackett may not amount to much (if at all) in the league, but I would have to think his stock is about as high as it's going to get following a solid year, and these other departures.
At the end of the day, Floyd has the program moving in the right direction, is brining in real talent, and has made SC a respectable NCAAB program.

He is out of his mind if he think he is good enough.

Yea I agree, he hasn't developed enough to play in the league. His defense is alright but probably not enough to be a successful player like Shane Battier or Bruce Bowen. No offense either. He also lacks confidence at times which isn't normal for a veteran on the team.

Hackett leaving early would be a decision on the level of Omar Cook leaving St. John's after his freshman season a few years ago.

Is this from the same source that originally said Floyd had accepted the Arizona job?

It's bad decisions for all of them b/c none of them are good enough to be NBA ready right now, even DeRozan. And Gibson can be 30, he's still not ready. Together they'd have a chance to make the final four. And it's a shame b/c Tim Floyd stuck around thinking these guys would come back. And now he has to deal with the Mayo thing. Looks like he should have took the Arizona job.
Come Correct.
