they need to trade rondo for someone decent, send garnett and pierce out to pasture and begin to rebuild...
Posted Tuesday May 14, 2013, About: Cubs ready to chase Boston's Ellsbury
no way ellisbury gets traded before he is a free agent. Boras will hem-n-haw stating ellisbury will NOT sign an extension with any team and will test the market, which will scare off most if not all suitors. Add to the fact that he is be looking for Hamilton type money, and whats happened to the angels attempt to buy a pennant with injury-risk expensive talent, most teams will be scared off.

Keep in mind Hicks isnt an owner anymore, and the Sox, Yanks and Angels wont want to lay down the big bucks. so Boras will have his hands full finding the ultimate sucker that will bid high for him. And Ellisbury is ALL about the money. He's gonna to chase the biggest payout down to the last cent..

I cannot really see how stadiums add to the community anymore. In the past, yeah sure. But now the majority of the fans are priced out of the stadium and watch on tv anyway. Its only about corporate seats now to line the owners/players pockets.

what type of idiot breaks into an impound lot to steal their own car back? Even if by some miracle you get in and out successfully, wouldnt the fact that only your car was stolen lead the police right to you?

Since players are not tested when on DL, take the year off, pile in the HGH to help with the hip rebuild. Being out for the year allows the peds to flush from his system to start next year fresh...

A more likely scenario is one of those new player coalition agreements that are all the rage now. where DW and Chris Paul ends up in Dallas, or he ends up in Houston with Harden.

DW needs a team where teammates don't hold him accountable (kobe), or coaches who don't ride him too hard to get his true potential (SvG).
Posted Saturday April 27, 2013, About: Jets unlikely to keep Mark Sanchez
while cutting sanchez and tebow would help the rebuilding process some, the circus and the true healing/rebuilding wont occur until the HC is shown the door as well.

you may be right. Though i do not think BB is getting much, if any sleep, when thinking about his defense...

i wish they'd take some of this tv money and lower the ticket prices..
Posted Friday March 22, 2013, About: Can the Miami Heat break the Lakers' record?
all this record means is that one team had all the superstars, the rest of the competetion was mediocre. Same was true for the lakers run. Their schedule was tame. Now if this was done in the 80's with the lakers/celtics/76ers/etc, that would be an achievement, which is why it didnt happen in that decade due to the good teams..
Posted Wednesday March 20, 2013, About: Jets QB race now wide open
although i don't wish it on him, it would have been better to bring in hasselbeck for a year, draft a QB, or develop one of the crappy ones they got now.

But then again, Ryan is not known for developing QBs. He probably destroyed whatever potential sanchez had. They don't need a stud QB right now. Doesnt have to have a cannon for an arm. They need someone, ANYONE, that can at least get to the second/third reads of the defense (which sanchez cannot do) and then get the ball there (which tebow cant do) in under 6 seconds (which garrard cant do).
Posted Wednesday March 20, 2013, About: Jets QB race now wide open
i suspect the jets will come out with a new offense, where they line up three QBs in the backfield, take out the RB. They'll hike the ball, and even the Jets wont know which QB gets the ball.

It'll be the best 2-yard passing game the NFL ever saw..

Posted Monday March 18, 2013, About: Dumervil's suitors include Denver
Seems he's too one-dimensional for Belicheck, but we'll see i guess. They need some pass-rushers, thats for sure. or anyone on defense that has an ounce of speed and can tackle..
Posted Saturday March 09, 2013, About: Patriots reportedly interested in Mike Wallace
no way this happens. there's a better chance of the pats resigning moss for a year than paying this guy top-dollar. Knowing the pats, this is probably a rope-a-dope for some other big name they are targetting, like steven jackson or something, to sign under the radar for a good deal..

this is why flacco wasnt worth 20+ million a year...
Posted Monday March 04, 2013, About: Flacco's agent: 'It's nice to be right'
I may be wrong here, but wasnt this the guy that midway through the season the debate was if the ravens would trade/release him after the season was over due to his mediocre play? He is a decent QB, but no where near the manning (both), brady, brees group. He had an awesome postseason, but he's been inconsistant during the regular season. And if you watched him throughout the playoffs, many of these 'awesome' plays were heaves down the field where his receiver made great plays (boldin and smith) and flatout chokes by the Denver and NE secondary. Heck you could almost say that this big contract was due to Bailey having a bad day covering smith and making Flacco look like some sort of royalty out there.

The ravens would have been better off giving him 15-17mil a year for 5 years, and securing Smith and boldin (especially smith) for the longterm...
Posted Thursday February 28, 2013, About: The NFL's most-hated team
i feel sorry for him. He has just won the superbowl, and yet he is still bashing a team they had beaten? Sour grapes and jealously. A bigger man would enjoy his teams accomplishments and work hard to repeat.
Posted Wednesday February 27, 2013, About: Brady's deal hurts teammates
Welker is a slot receiver, no way is he worth 10+million a year. The pats already proved they can win with a bunch of nobodys for WRs, and they still got the two TE's (if they can stay healthy). Their main issue is rushing the passer. Many will say CB is the issue, but if you cannot pressure the QB, no CB can stay with receivers for 6+ seconds.

If they can sign Welker for 7-8 million a year for 2-3 years, signing bonus around 3 million, thats a bit more reasonable. If not, let him walk and get some DL and LBs that can move laterally/veritically and draft a slot receiver in the 4th round or higher..
Posted Thursday February 07, 2013, About: Steroid 'era' may never end
when these idiots get suspended, due to baseballs collective bargaining, the players still get paid don't they? The penalties have to be stricter and hit the wallet harder. I mean if you are making 500k a year, and someone comes along and says you could be making 10million a year if you take PEDs, and theres a 20% chance you get caught, that seems like a risk worth taking for the less scrupulous. Especially if you get to keep all the money you made before you got caught and after you come back from suspension. Look at Arod: 252 million. He got caught, embarassed, but he is going to given every last dime of that money. Pretty good trade-off for the low risk, public brow-beating but thats about it.

1st offense, booted for 1 year and their current contract is null and void. The team that owned the contract retains rights for either a trade or to resign/release them for the length of the contract that was voided. 2nd offense, life-time ban from baseball.
Posted Tuesday February 05, 2013, About: Will Jed Lowrie become a star for the Oakland A's?
he's a decent utility man, but it speaks volumes that boston traded him away with their ineptitude at 3rd and short (though the rookie looks decent at third so far).
