Thank God. Get this piece of NY crap out of Chicago. While he's leaving he should take Pax with him.
Posted Friday August 08, 2008, About: Bears, Texans, Ravens want vet OT
Bears should've traded next year's 1st round draft pick for Brett Favre straight up... Williams is yet another example of the growing evidence that Jerry Angelo has absolutely no business choosing a 1st rd. draft pick.

The Bears should move Tait to LT and have a public competition to fill the RT spot. 1/2 the bouncers in Chicago would make better OLmen than social-security-collecting Fred Miller. He was TERRIBLE (Kenny) every down he ever played with the Bears, and it's only b/c Angelo is a retard that we have to go crawling back to him. If I'm Miller I tell the Bears to give me $10M guaranteed.

my question is why do veterans need such tirades? that being said "GO WHITE SOX"!!!

Chasin' Utleys | 08/05/08, 11:40 AM

I don't think the tirades effect the team much. They DO, however, keep the media from asking Paul Konerko why he decided he shouldn't hit anymore, or asking Jose Contreras whether he has considered throwing strikes somewhere OTHER than right down the middle of the plate, or asking Joe Crede whether he's considered heading to the lab in Northern Alberta where Wolverine got his skeleton metalized. Furthermore, they are playing like crap and I bet ANY manager would be pissed if a) DJ Carrasco was on his team, b) he had to put Carrasco in a blowout against the Royals, and c) Miguel Olivo charges the mound like he's any good. If I'm a manager I throw at Olivo every time; his antics will likely lead to GOOD players on the opposing team getting thrown out too.

maybe they got a bad batch of elotes. Your thoughts Chicago Al?

Chasin' Utleys | 08/05/08, 11:41 AM

Yeah... probably got them from Kansas... they do grow corn in Kansas, don't they? Not sure what else the state'd be good for...
Posted Tuesday August 05, 2008, About: MLB may punish Ozzie for threat
Duany Duany - what else is he supposed to do? His pitching has fallen off the earth & the Sox don't have any other options. Nearly all of them are veterans, and at this point in the season it's sink or swim; they either get back to the unbelievable first half form OR they stay here on earth and continue failing.

I wouldn't expect anything other than a racist comment from a Jayhawks fan. Just so you know, a lot of people in civilized America aren't that fond of Kansas... in fact, when I take over America I am trading the entire state of Kansas to Mexico for the Mayan ruins.
Posted Tuesday July 29, 2008, About: Gordon won't rule out move to Europe
I hope Gordon DOES go to Europe. He certainly isn't worth keeping on the Bulls roster. He will NEVER start in the NBA given that he always gets two fouls within the first two minutes of the game. Sadly, the Bulls will miss his scoring, but perhaps I can work out a package deal that will ship Paxson to Europe along with Gordon.
Posted Thursday July 24, 2008, About: Hester's holdout surprises Bears
smudgers - Harris, Briggs, Tillman, Vasher? Yes. Good picks. Note that only ONE of them was a first round pick (Harris). Why is it that NEARLY ALL of Angelo's 1st and 2nd round picks are TERRIBLE? This team can't afford to be handcuffed by overpaying for bad 1st round choices both financially and to bolster Angelo's ego. If Benson & Grossman aren't first round draft picks then Grossman is likely cut after his third straight injury and Benson is cut b/c he is AWFUL. Furthermore, as great as our defense *can be*, and giving Angelo due credit for his role in building that defense, he is also responsible for tragically neglecting everything on the offensive side of the football. How many offensive linemen has he drafted? You wonder why we have no one to fill in for our social-security-collecting OL?

Hester should call Angelo's bluff. Let Angelo try to save face by saying he's "surprised" and that "negotiations were going well." Without saying so publically, Hester's actions demonstrate what all Bears fans already know: our offense is ****ED and it has been for some time.
Posted Thursday July 24, 2008, About: Hester's holdout surprises Bears
I think that this dilemma is a result of Jerry Angelo's failures. Sure, he had the foresight to draft a game-changing special teams player in the 2nd round, but this is the ONLY pick in recent years that has amounted to anything. Reality is that if he knew how to draft and play the free agent market, the Bears team wouldn't be as dependent on Hester.

Now, the reality is that Hester accounts for a great deal of our offense, not only on the TDs he scores but also with our great field position. Angelo SHOULD pay Hester simply b/c he is the third or fourth most important player on the team! I wish it wasn't true, and it's a damn shame that it IS true, but it's a fact.

I couldn't agree more with duany duany that of all the Bears players Hester stands to gain the most from being at camp. At the same time, Angelo has no choice but to give in and he can only blame his own stupid **** self for it.

I am TIRED of watching the Bears go season after season without making the necessary adjustments to put them over the top. This team hasn't gotten better in four years and they look even worse this year. Angelo needs to go. I'm tired of listening to cheap **** Angelo--and the more unrealistic fans--complain about how Bears players want more money when he has done NOTHING to show that a) he's loyal, b) he's trustworthy, or c) he has any idea of what he's doing.
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Ozzie goes off on Rangers closer
Ozzie is a perfect leader for the White Sox and I like his honesty. He treats his team the same way, and when other managers do it (e.g., Lou Pinella threatening to take Marquis out of the rotation, or Lou Pinella speaking his mind about anything for that matter) most fans defend the other managers. I couldn't agree more w/ the folks here who said, "It's CJ Wilson." People. It's CJ WILSON. Ozzie gets the benefit of the doubt here. Lastly, all you intolerant xenophobes who want Ozzie deported should think a little bit more before you write. I hope that you all are kidding.
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Deng sets contract deadline
Paxson should be fired. Not only did he make the wrong choice with the 1st pick in the draft, but he also made NO free-agent moves & is stuck at a standoff with Deng & Gordon. Well played on the players part: who stands to lose more? Deng & Gordon continue playing in the league, but if Pax can only muster one-year tenders before losing them both to free agency, he is as good as gone in Chicago and rightfully so.
Posted Thursday July 03, 2008, About: White Sox may shop Uribe
This would be the biggest mistake of the Kenny Williams era. No man is big enough to trade el Rey del Caribe.
Posted Friday June 20, 2008, About: Rose wants to play for Bulls
I would take Beasley. I've read here that he's "only" 6'7", and that he's crazy, and while I wasn't necessarily impressed w/ his comments in the interview following his workout, I would STILL take Beasley. He is a scorer. Period. No one can argue that. He played against BETTER competition on a regular basis than Rose and he was on a worse team.

THAT SAID, I'll say it again. What's more important than what the Bulls do w/ this pick is what they do with the supporting cast. Who will they keep & who will be jettisoned out. For example, say the Bulls let Gordon go, trade Hinrich & Tyrus (who is awful, btw) for something and sign Baron Davis (pipe dream, but I'm just saying) or Gilbert Arenas... Beasley would be ideal. BUT, if they trade for a guy like Jermaine O'Neil then Rose could potentially work better.
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Mets owners OK firing Randolph
Whether or not they fire Randolph, they need to address an aging roster. Alou is garbage (always has been), Pedro won't cut it either, and Delgado is NYs version of Paul Konerko/Jim Thome, read: useless & over-the-hill.

They should simply ask Reyes & Wright who they want to coach them & then systematically get rid of everyone else. On another note, is pitching coach Peterson still sporting a mullet?
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Report: Vikes interested in WR Rogers
Wait! You mean Bernie Berrien isn't enough? With the amount they're paying him he better make more plays than he did in Chicago. I hope they're not expecting him to do anything other than catch a deep ball every three games... oh, wait. That's the only pass Tragedy Jackson can make, so it might actually work out. Charles Rogers is a bad pick up if you ask me... so the Vikes should do it!
Posted Thursday June 12, 2008, About: Ref: FBI inquired about Bavetta
Hugh Hollins cost the Bulls a championship on a BOGUS call. The HH Factor was a tragically horrible ref & is not a reliable source.
Posted Thursday June 12, 2008, About: Bradley goes after Royals broadcaster
First off, I could care less about drug and alcohol "redemption stories." I'll give you that maybe some or most people love those stories. In any case, how do any of us know how many people Hamilton has hurt? Don't assume just b/c he's clean now and his name wasn't in the press when he was pulling Bob Sagats that he didn't do something worse.

I think the bigger picture for Bradley was not just being called out for no reason, but specifically for being compared to Hamilton in a negative light. I'm not that impressed with Hamilton; wasn't he supposed to be doing this years ago? Oh, wait. All the pressures turned him into a crack head. For all you people who say Milton should grow up b/c he's making a bank, I'll add that while he's still dealing with many of the same pressures that Hamilton faced, at least he didn't turn to drugs.

As for Bradley, going up to the press box to confront the announcer might be overboard--he didn't actually DO anything bad--but judging from the posts on this chain, I think it would suck suck having people hate you for no reason or simply b/c they're misinformed.
Posted Thursday June 12, 2008, About: Bradley goes after Royals broadcaster
Bradley is passionate about the game and he likely has an anger problem. Hamilton was a drug addict who sobered up. Wow. That's tough. While you can certainly tell every drug addict that he/she has not tapped their potential and that their addiction is hindering that, Hamilton had a little bit more motivation. Try telling every drug addict that they could make millions if they dropped the junk. Not surprised the KC analyst said this though, considering there isn't much to say about that sorry **** team.
Posted Wednesday June 11, 2008, About: Jones hopes to hear from Bears
Big Bad Bears Backer: Really? JONES is too injury prone yet Henry wouldn't be bad? I take Alexander for a year over signing Henry, and taking a risk on Jones could pay huge dividends. We already made the mistake of sticking w/ Benson for too long, and drafting Forte too early, why the hell not take another chance?
Posted Tuesday June 10, 2008, About: Bulls could make play for J. O'Neal
The Bulls need a superstar, and with the exception of possibly signing Arenas now that he's opted out, they need to take the chance that either Rose or Beasley will blossom into a legit NBA superstar. O'Neal, at this point, would simply be a nice addition as a post role player. As such, I don't think it's a bad pick up and it is certainly an upgrade over Tyrus Thomas who is the definition of a one-dimensional player.
Posted Tuesday June 10, 2008, About: Is Del Negro desperate choice?
Reinsdorf is fiscally conservative w/ the Bulls b/c his payroll for the Sox is higher than he'd like. Reality is that REINSDORF himself is responsible for the Bulls recent demise: bringing in Ben Wallace, who destroyed any control Skiles had of the team is what got this all started. I hope Del Negro learned A LOT from Popovich when he was in San Antonio. If not this is terrible... then again, would the rifle man be any better? How about Dwayne Casey? He did a GREAT job in Minnesota.
Posted Tuesday June 10, 2008, About: Arenas opts out, tests market
The Bulls have been waiting for this opportunity forever. They should make a hard push to get him into Chicago. If they considered paying Ben Gordon $10M/year they should seriously consider bringing in Arenas; very similar players, only one is actually good AND more importantly, GA gets calls that Ben Gordon will never get.
Posted Monday June 09, 2008, About: Bulls could make play for J. O'Neal
First off, Bulls should take Beasley. IF they take Rose I don't have a tremendous problem with this trade. O'Neil injured has more value than Tyrus Thomas, who misses practice to protest his lack of playing time. Great idea Tyrus. You've been in the league how many years now & you STILL CAN'T SHOOT! Sounds like the next Tyson Chandler to me; he'll only get motivated to play to his potential AFTER a "team gives up on him."
