Posted Thursday September 17, 2009, About: Braves manager uncertain to return
As a Phillies fan, Bobby is one of the greatest managers. Capt. them in a steller '90s and early 2000's. He is a great tactician too. Unfortunatly, it wasnt until the team was sold and they stopped bringing in quality players/assistant coaches that the team started to struggle. Corporate ownership has its downsides...lack of passion is one of them. Losing Bobby would be a mistake for the Braves.

BTW, they should try to trade Vick now that the Eagles absorbed the "shock" of him being back in the NFL. Trade him for a real pass rusher or real middle linebacker to replace the loss of Bradley.

I used to be Eagles fan. For nearly 36 yrs too. However, this ownership/management has lots to be desired. First, outside of Vick, their Defense is a huge questionmark. The losses of JJ, Dawkins, Bradley, the lack of a real pass rush are all a lot to ask for from a rookie defensive coordinator. The loss of Ingram at tight end is also huge (despite the fact he was a rookie). By signing Vick they have now 4 QBs, so there is no logical need for Vick. So it begs the question, was the Eagles front office motivated by greed? Getting Vick so cheaply and using him as trade bait? Vick has served his public time, but he has not served or displayed what many feel as true remorse for his dispicable crimes. Eagles are cold/calculating, which is fine as a business, however as a fan, this cold/calculating has not turned into a Championship, and frankly I have lost my patience with this team...as many in Philly have, hence why Philadelphia is a Phillies town now. At least they delivered a Championship for the fans, more then the Eagles can say.

Yanks will be lucky if they get back to the playoffs even with Sabbathia and Burnett.

Jo Pa is the embodiment of honor, integrity, courage, and winning. Though he may be a bit slower, a bit more aloof, the game has not passed him by and he continues to win AND maintain a respectible organization in a world where uneducated pre-madonnas barley removed from the ghetto become instant millionaires only to fail as citizens of this country. Good for Joe, Good for PSU!!!

Hmmm, I admit I dont know much about ND, but what little I do know is under this coach, they are not nearly as good as they once were. Crazy that he has been giving this much slack....guess ND sees something in him...then again, maybe not and they just want to finish the season.

Like to see Gillick turn the NHL around. Its lost virtually ALL of its once gloried luster.

When will teams learn. Throwing all kinds of rediculous money DOESNT WORK. Just ask the recent Yankees, Red Sox, Washington Redskins, and Dallas Cowboys teams. The 2008 Phillies showed (and to a lesser degree the Tampa Bay Rays) that we quality players, good coaching, and a sense of "team", any team can win a Championship.

LoL. As an Eagles fan, all I can say is cudos to Jerry Jones for trying to improve his team. He may not always succeed, but he knows in the end you have to gamble sometimes. As mentioned, I am an Eagles fan however, I am NOT a fan of the "Joe Banner or Andy Reid thrift shop roster moves". Much like Reid's game day coaching abilities, they constantly FAIL to execute to improve the roster when the oppty presents itself. I am not say they need to mortgage the team's future with questionable picks, however, they do need to put some skin in game for transactions to work. Additionally, I dont understand why Banner feels the need to throw stones when his (and mine) organization has yet to win a Superbowl, ever. Just goes to show you the NFL and specifically the Eagles front office are only interested in fielding a contender and NOT winning a Championship. Business will be business.

All I can say is WOW. Cowgirls are really digging themselves and nice pit with this motley crew of "nobody wants". They're poster children for how to build a team of misfits and creatons. I can only image what will happen when the team hits rough times and all the individual personalities emerge, TO/ and Romo will cry and whine, Pacman and Tank will gamble and shoot someone at a local strip club. Keep up the good work Jones...the rest of the NFC is watching...and laughing.

I see the Flyers getting him. They will be extremely competative next year and have much room under the cap. In fact, I could see they Flyers being very active in the offseason, again.

I hope the Cowgirls/NFL let him play. He'll make a good target for both on the field and off the field antics. Let the self destruction of the Cowgirls begin!!!

Maybe Mora was on to something when he said Vick was the issue. Guess Bobby didnt get that press report.

Has anyone observed that McCain is insane? - A Good-Looking Man

Are you kidding? Obama. Has anyone observed he and his wife have some very unAmerican comments in their background let alone the fact he has never made an executive decision in his life.

Pedro is washed up. His head isnt in it anymore.

Ahhh the Cowboys. Good to see the team unity. They should keep any negative comments behind closed doors.

Though I am a Eagles fan (yes, they are challenged), the NFC East as a whole looks pretty good this season. Hell, if Manning and his mediocre QB skills can win a Superbowl, there's hope for Andy Reid and his terrible play calling and wide receiving corps.

Gary is knucklehead.

BTW is it intentional that the Pengiuns, Pirates, Steelers all wear yellow and black? Anyone know?
Posted Monday May 26, 2008, About: Octopi still fly after NHL warning
Bettman is an **** and morphing the NHL into the WWE (just without the ratings and money they have). Its all staged from the bad officiating to the Pens being in the finals.

The only thing honest about the NHL these days it the Wings belong there.
Posted Monday May 26, 2008, About: Commish not happy with NBA conflict
Considering the NHL set up this matchup to get the best ratings possible, doesnt it figure Gary Bettman would be unhappy that the NBA is stealing all their ratings. The NHL has become a joke with being broadcast on VS, influencing the outcome of games, eliminating fighting, and lack of uniformity in officiating. Its too bad. The NHL could become a premier sport if it werent for the likes of those cronnies up in Toronto.
Posted Sunday May 18, 2008, About: Bettman not rooting for Pens-Wings
NHL should stand for No Honor League. It's clear the NHL wants the Wings/Pens. It's a business the NHL is and they are still recovering from the lockout. What BS. Just let the best teams play. Too many penalties, favoritism of teams and players, refs interfering with the game, lockouts, no fighting. Its like watching soccer. No wonder the NHL's viewership is dropping like a stone and relegated to the Vs network.
