Posted Friday February 22, 2008, About: Heat trade rumors don't pan out
Wait til Marion finds out he's already being mentioned in trade rumors.

At least the Heat don't have to worry about him disappearing during any big games as there won't be any in Miami.
Posted Wednesday January 30, 2008, About: Front-runner for Kidd trade is...
When did the Suns become interested? I know the guy that traded him after his domestic issue is no longer with the organization but I can't see them wanting to bring him back. Especially at close to $20 million a year.
Posted Tuesday January 29, 2008, About: Three teams to bid on Kidd
Also, in his interview yesterday, Kidd said he just wants to compete every night. He understands that a contender wouldn't be interested in gutting their roster to absorb his salary.
Posted Tuesday January 29, 2008, About: Three teams to bid on Kidd
It'll be Dallas but I'm intrigued by a Kidd/Oden/Roy/Aldridge line-up.
Posted Tuesday January 22, 2008, About: Phoenix may stick with roster
Phoenix hasn't played their best basketball yet and they still have the best record in the west. Despite playing more road games than 90% of the league.

Thomas is not better than Skinner "by far". Thomas averaged 4.6 PPG & 5.7RPG in 18 minutes last year. Skinner is at 3.7 PPG & 4.3 RPG in 14 minutes. Skinner is a MUCH better shot blocker and his minutes are on the rise. Thomas also tended to bog down the offense while "containing" Duncan (more on that later).

Had Marion been willing to sign an extension in Boston, it would be Garnett with the Suns, not Jefferson.

Amare has been playing more 4 lately as Skinner's minutes increase and they stay on the court together.

During the Spurs series last year, Thomas was able to hold Duncan to "only" 27 PPG & 14 RPG. I'm sure you know the outcome of the series so why not try something else. Maybe let Duncan get his and bring in guys that fit in the best offense in the league. No one in the league can stop Duncan so you have to try something else. What they had wasn't working.
Posted Wednesday January 16, 2008, About: Potential Suns point guards
ESPN... It's funny that you mention the Laker game because that was absolutely a motivation issue. The Lakers were motivated to beat the team that knocked them out of the playoffs (twice) while the Suns weren't overly excited about "just another game" when they had 81 more to play before they started to matter.
Posted Wednesday January 16, 2008, About: Potential Suns point guards
Yeah, bring in the Damn Stoudamire!
Posted Wednesday January 16, 2008, About: Potential Suns point guards
In my opinion, their struggles (if you call 1/2 game back of 1st place in the West struggling) are linked to motivation. For years, the Suns have rolled over everyone in the regular season only to have everyone tell them "The regular season doesn't matter". So my question is... If the regular season doesn't matter, why's everyone so worried about the Suns (and praising the Lakers)?

I have a feeling that come March & April, the Suns will be at the top of their division and ready for the playoffs.

Again, it's just my opinion.
Posted Tuesday January 15, 2008, About: Stoudamire on Suns radar?
Banks is much better off the ball, similar to Barbosa. That's why the Suns run their offense through Diaw or Hill when Nash is resting. A (cheap) veteran point guard could help get Nash more rest.

There's no questioning Banks' ability to score or defend. It's his silly fouls and turnovers that get him on Dantoni's bad side.
Posted Tuesday January 15, 2008, About: Stoudamire on Suns radar?
At the vet minimum, I'd think the Celts or Cavs would be a better fit but if the Suns want him, I'm ok with that. He'd be the only "point" guard on the team when Nash is resting.
Posted Tuesday January 15, 2008, About: Mourning waffles on retirement
The Heat aren't looking for any more bad press. Mourning already said this was his last season and that this injury ends his season. 1 + 1 = Retirement.

The Heat just want to announce it at the right time.
Posted Tuesday January 15, 2008, About: Bucks reject Knicks trade offer
Zach has quite possibly the worst contract in the NBA at $61 million through 2011.

The Bucks would be Isiah crazy to take on his contract.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
I'm going to bookmark this page so that I can post the link in April after the Lakers finish at 45-37 and lose (again) in the first round.

Like I said... Win a playoff series and we'll talk.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
My thoughts exactly Kmahl.

Basing post season predictions on regular season games. Some people's logic amazes me.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
Now DJ, you know I'm not a hater. Check my past TD's for how much praise I gave the Lakers (less Kobe) and you'll see how fickle Laker fans are. At that time, they were fighting with me regarding the talent surrounding Kobe. Now that talent is suddenly bringing them a championship?

You love bringing up the 05-6 playoffs so let's look at those. The Suns are without they're leading scorer or top two rebounders and they still beat the Lakers after giving them a 3 game head start. With Amare back, the Lakers only get 1 game of 5. This season won't be any different.

The Laker's won't be top 4 as they won't win more games than SA, Dallas or Phoenix and the Jazz/Nuggets are in the top 4 as division winners. A 5 seed eliminates them in the first round regardless of who they play.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
Cleveland beat San Antonio both times in the regular season last year. We all know how that worked out.

We'll see in April which team is for real. I'll take the Suns even though Vegas won't pay me the odds that you would.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
Careful what you wish for Kmahl. The Lakers were praying to run into the Suns last year too before being dismissed in 5 games.

I'd worry more about the games in April than the ones in December but that's just my opinion.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
Funny how the Lakers fans are all about the talent on this team but were completely backing Kobe's tears for some help this off season.

All I'm saying is that once the first round comes and goes and Kobe's watching from home, are you still going to be bragging about your talent?
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
Not a hater, just a realist. Kobe is who he is once once he realizes that he's not going to win the MVP and is not currently leading the league in scoring, this entire "pre"season goes out the window.

The Lakers have won 4 playoff games the last 3 seasons with essentially the same team they have now. Win a playoff series and you may be able to talk about being contenders.
Posted Tuesday January 08, 2008, About: Kobe's staying with Lakers
They are "making a serious championship run" in the same sense as the Warriors, Hornets, Wizards, Hawks and all the other first round exits.

As for whether or not Kobe stays... We'll have to wait to see what names he drops when his second annual "My team sucks" rant hits stores this June.
Posted Friday January 04, 2008, About: Redemption for Lakers GM?
The Lakers will fade again, will likely be a 6, 7 or 8 seed and are unable to beat the Spurs, Mavs, Suns or Jazz in a 7 game series. Out in the first round again.

Kobe will be traded by Feb '09.

P.S. DJ... 2 years ago the Suns gave the Lakers a 3 game head start, spotted them their leading scorer & rebounder and their best interior defender (who was also their second best rebounder) and the Lakers still couldn't get it done. With Amare back, the Lakers cannot compete with the Suns in a 7 game series.
