Always a great read, (Yo)Grue! Didn't realize that Badger fans have resorted to dairy worship in order to overcome the Buckeye hump...

Astute assessment, Mike. The Irish worried me a bit in the second half last week. They seemed to struggle a bit on both sides of the ball. They'll have to continue to improve if they want a shot a 9-3...

Typically, what you see and hear is what you get with BK, I but think he's bluffing a bit. I think the team is farther along than he'll let on, and he probably agrees. I like the strategy though... always dangle the carrot just far enough out to get better and better execution...

Tough break. My problem with weddings has become Freudian over the years... In conversations I always slip up and refer to them as funerals.

Though, they could probably make a pretty good run at an ACC title.

I am a bit more optomistic. With the return of the two injured safeties, this will allow the defense to broaden their calling and show more looks to the offense. Luck may be mobile, but he's no Denard Robinson. Considering how the Irish held him in check in the second half, I would guess that Luck won't be running around too much. The defensive line seems to get better each week. I think they'll have success putting pressure on Luck and the running game. As for intangibles, it seems that team morale improves each week. Forcing the throw, healthy safeties, improvement on the D line, good morale and new defensive looks, bode well for an upset. Maybe shades of the big upset in Knoxville in 2004. Regardless of the outcome, the sun will rise in South Bend on Sunday...

I don't believe Sac State is an FBS team...

I saw the frightened look on the kicker's face when Dantonio was sending him in with the play. I knew something was up. Looked to me like the play clock was at :00 before the snap, but we deserved to lose anyway because of all the points you brought up, Michael. Though, I still think we're dealing with the hangover from Weis's recruiting. He just never really cared much about defense. I'm encouraged by Kelly's recruiting on both sides of the ball thus far.

Fourth down? If you don't have enough faith in your offense to run on 4th & short, punt the damn thing. I'm not saying you have to run it up the gut, but, come on, that last try was a joke. It's okay to pass once in a while, but State was obviously ready for a pass.

Stanford looked pretty good aganst Wake. If everything stays the same, this one will be a shootout. The one encouraging thing is that Luck didn't account for as much of the score and yardage as one might think had they not seen the game.

The State loss still hurts, but we've got Stanford to prepare for now...

Nice work, Michael. I'm confused by Vegas as well. I looked at the lines all week and can't figure out what I'm missing. I'm looking for a vast improvement over the last two weeks on both sides of the ball. Not sure it'll even be as close as 31-20. Even with Robinson's performance last week, the D line is showing more and more consistency at controlling scrimmage. I also agree with Kelly. I think that blow to the face pushed Cryst's maturity up several notches. I'm confident that we'll hang on to the Megaphone.
