And another thing, if he's as big into this as they say he is, he deserves the same punishment as Pete Rose....banned forever.

He's refusing to accept responsibility for his actions. I think since he's A-Rod, he thinks he's above anyone else who got caught. He refused all the deals offerred to him. He's going down and he'll be remembered as a doper and a cheater. His career is forever tarnished.

Nothing wrong reading from a prepared statement. It allows you to compose your thoughts. You don't want to sound stupid....again.

I heard about 5 different former NFL coaches and players say the decision rests with players in the locker room on if they'll allow him to come back. If Cooper is a huge distraction and no body wants to play with him or be around him, he's done in Philly and may not get picked up.

I wrote a blog about the same issue. What I brought up in mine is the fact, that some African-Americans use the same word, and yes some of these people play in the NFL. They don't receive any sanctions for using that word. Why should they receive no sensitivity training? It seems to me that those same people are being derogatory toward their members who share the same skin color, and therefore, should be respectful of EVERYONE as well.

I'm not saying Cooper doesn't deserve any punishment or sanctions, just that others should receive the same treatment.

What does putting an 'a' on the end of the word really matter? It means the same. Does it mean something different if a black person addresses another by the term, "hey n-." That makes it all right? I'm just asking. I was raised to believe that word was something that never should be spoken by anyone, no matter what their skin color is.
Obviously, we are thinking on opposite sides of the fence on this issue. And for the record, I don't live in a gated suburban community. My next door neighbor is black. I work with blacks. I help coach school sports teams. As a coach, I will NEVER tolerate the use of the word no matter who uses it.
Was Cooper wrong to use the word? Definitely yes. Should others (no matter the skin color) receive the same kind of sanctions and treatment by league officials? Yes...that is if the NFL is truly serious about addressing this issue. If not, then the sanctions and punishment is useless.

Jim Rome was saying yesterday that the Eagles owner should see about having Cooper cut. He based his comments on the fact that Cooper wanted to go backstage at a Kenny Chesney concert and the black security guard wouldn't let him. That is when Cooper went on his tirade.
Like I said, what Cooper did was wrong, but this racial slur thing goes down both sides of the street. Folks need to be just as upset with people of the same skin color using the same word that Cooper did.

I agree about the safety features of the latest design. It's hard to argue that point, but I too, wish they had something to make it look like you could go into a dealership and get pretty much the same looking car.
I just may stop by Nascar fans Forever.
