If you want to put an asterisk beside it because it was won under different than normal circumstances I'm okay with that. If you want it there because you see it as a lesser title I'm not with you there.

They had to work under different circumstances. Which meant they had to work longer in the 82 seasons. Different personnel strategies involved in the two types of seasons.

Your reasoning is sound. I can agree that the titles have to be taken for what they are as different, but I don't think we should tier them as less but instead just different. I'm not saying you ignore the fact that it was a less rigorous season, but everyone was exposed to the same standards regardless of the overall length of the season. Everyone had the same chance of going into the season with less wear and tear on their players. So in that regard I don't think of it as a 'lesser' title, but it does require some context.
