Posted Friday October 02, 2009, About: Oregon may reinstate Blount
There we go. This is exactly why I think (at least originally) he got a very stiff punishment. Not for the punch to the BSU players face but for the entire body of work, which included a near trip into the stands barring being held back by coaches and security staff members. I think if he had calmed down and left the field after the original incident then a couple games suspension would have been fine. However, Blount continuing to act like a loose cannon is troubling.

Hell yes they are. I mean you've seen Ali. I'm convinced Tyson's issues started before he got a good whack to the head but who knows. If you're willing to do it and know the risks...more power too you. I just hope they are sufficiently prepared for the "you will be messed up after your career is over".

*wish they wouldn't take it so light.

Wish I COULD type appropriately

Its these guy choices to play and potentially get these injuries with it. If they are okay with it so am I. Just worries me when people say oh its part of the job...oh well. You apparently have some reverence for the idea of long term injury and effects. I just wish people would take it so lightly. Whether it is common or not it should not be taken lightly.
Posted Sunday September 27, 2009, About: How bad is Tebow's concussion?
You seem to have a very flippant attitude towards people (QBs) sustaining concussions. This is actually potentially a serious condition that is as of yet still poorly understood and potentially has long term effects that even less is known about. It worries me that so many people take them lightly.
Posted Sunday September 27, 2009, About: How bad is Tebow's concussion?
Yeah QBs sometimes lay on the ground for a while when they get rattled. It is not always a clear indicator of a serious injury. Tebow got hurt. It was a very unfortunate incident but players sometimes get hurt in football. I dont think many players would wish that upon another player or celebrate having injured somebody.

Absolutely! That was a solid and disciplined VT team. No shame in losing to them.
Posted Sunday September 27, 2009, About: How bad is Tebow's concussion?
Yeah I missed the actual hit during that game and only got to see the replays so you could be right here. Considering how "well" UK had done during the game sure the sack deserved maybe a fist pump or something gotta pick yourself up somehow from a bad game. Oh and I think you and I both know exactly what the score of the game was at the time so please don't get snarky.
Posted Sunday September 27, 2009, About: How bad is Tebow's concussion?
He had just sacked probably the best QB in the league. I can't say for sure, but I don't think he knew Tebow was injured. If he did I can't and will not defend the celebration, but I have trouble believing he celebrated knowing Tebow was down for the count.

In my opinion...not really
Posted Tuesday September 22, 2009, About: Kiffin takes another shot at Meyer
I wish Kiffin would just shut up. However, did Meyer serious say he kept play calling conservative because Tennessee didn't seem to be "up" for the game. I call BS on that one. You know Florida would've run the score as high as they possibly could against the Vols.
Posted Thursday September 10, 2009, About: Buckeyes' Pryor salutes Vick
Sorry meant to say felonies not federal laws (the brain to finger ratio is slow for me today) and of course everyone has broken some minor insignificant law (ie jaywalking). I guess my point is that convicted felons, in general, are looked upon less favorably to reenter the workplace in non-sports/entertainment related arenas and that is why so many people get fired up about it. I hope that makes sense (it may not).
Posted Thursday September 10, 2009, About: Buckeyes' Pryor salutes Vick
Okay for starters I must be especially dense today what was the point of mentioning "at will" employment? I understand that hiring and firing of any workplace employee is subjective to what the company wants. I agree that rehiring is largely dependent on what the crime was and interstate trafficking is not especially heinous, but the idea is that criminal activity was engaged in which begs the question of whether you can trust the individual to not perform questionable acts again. Therein lies I think the only correlation meaning can you trust the man to now stay clean knowing that he willing violated federal law, but yes you're right its largely image based and if you as a team are okay with that more power to you.
Posted Thursday September 10, 2009, About: Buckeyes' Pryor salutes Vick
Let me just introduce an idea I am sure has already been tossed around. My only issue is that in most workplaces (which the NFL is often likened to be it fair or not) do not allow convicted felons back into their jobs. Now I realize that this is a sports/entertainment arena but I think a lot of people take exception to that.
Posted Thursday September 10, 2009, About: Terrelle Pryor: Everyone kills people
No I think it still would have been relevant we just never would have heard about it if it was a kid from a small school. Look there is no problem with you defending your school in fact as I see it this is not a OSU problem this is a problem with a young kid not understanding the weight of his words in a media and information dominated society.
Posted Thursday September 10, 2009, About: Terrelle Pryor: Everyone kills people
Do these high profile kids not have 24/7 PR agents working with them? This is a perfect example of think before you speak. I mean come on everyone kills people what a terrible choice of words. Someone may need to start scripting his time with the media...geez.
Posted Wednesday August 19, 2009, About: Will Bowen find a team next season?
The guy has serious injuries way too often. It is far too early in his career for him to be having issues with his legs and it will likely get worse as he gets older. Hes a good player but until he plays an entire season at the high level (which he sometimes plays at) the tag of franchise player is a big stretch. He could be a franchise player, but I have seen nothing yet to indicate that he will be. I like a lot of your posts but I can not abide by this one.

Its certainly an interesting theory. I guess we'll see how it play out in a few years.

lol...fair enough
Posted Tuesday June 23, 2009, About: Celtics offer Allen, Rondo to Pistons
My big question here is why do the Celtics keep offering up Rondo in trade proposals? Is this just a carrot to see what other teams might be willing to give for him or are they somehow unhappy with some other aspects of him as a player (talent does not seem to be the issue). I wonder if anyone who follows the Celtics or basketball in general more closely than I do might enlighten me.
Posted Monday June 22, 2009, About: Grizzlies question Thabeet in L.A.
I just don't get a good feeling from Thabeet. Everyone likes to say how great a defender he is, but we have not seen if that will translate in the NBA where he will face top talent from every player. This on top of the fact that it is evident that his touch on the ball is suspect. However, as JGB said if you need a big man I cannot think of who else there is to take (with the obvious exception of Griffin) but if you don't need him to score I think he is worth the shot.
