The difference with Nolan Ryan was that he had perfect mechanics and also pitched with his legs more than his arms. So many young pitchers learn to throw with just their arms rather than learn to "pitch". Look at all the great old time pitchers. With the exception of Sandy Koufax, who was just plain overused, none of them had arm troubles. Kids do not care about learning how to "pitch" in little league, they just care about throwing curves balls and trying to throw as fast as they can with poor mechanics. Any kid learning how to pitch should spend several days watching old Nolan Ryan videos and Roger Clemens videos. Despite the roids, Clemens still had great mechanics. The Reds should be very concerned!!!
