Posted Wednesday February 18, 2009, About: Raptors GM denies all Bosh trade rumors
Being a Raptors fan, I know if we can keep Bosh and Marion, then this team will be back to 4th-5th seed in the East. Then its about drafting right, and making the right signings and trades. As long as we have Bosh, we have enough to build a tear around. He will stay here as long as the team is winning, and moving in the right direction. Players love it here, any player thats ever played here has loved it. Ask Charlie V what he thinks about Toronto. The problem isn't Canada or toronto.

Toronto has one of the biggest fan bases in NA and the world. I believe their website is 3rd in the NBA for daily traffic around the globe (behind LA and Boston). Also besides Chicago, LA and NY there is not a bigger market then Toronto. Toronto has international appeal, and international attention. It might not be New York, but it is a pretty great city.

Also, the exchange rate is not that big of a deal for the cash cow that owns the Raptors and Maple Leafs. For the Jays its a problem, but not with MLSE.

hahaha c'mon...I am disappointed in all you. How has nobody made fun of "Rocky 5" yet and his amazing portrayal of Tommy "the machine" Gunn.
Posted Saturday January 24, 2009, About: Are Niners eyeing Michael Vick?
You know its funny, I sit here and I read people complain about Vick, and all the stuff he's done. But in reality, what crime did he commit against you? The State or the country? Because the truth is, he didn't. Now I don't condone dog fighting, but let's be honest. They're animals. I'd never do it as I love dogs.

Now my point is, over the past year, year and a half I've started reading a lot of material that deals with the Mafia and Hells Angels. These guys are crumbling the very fabric of American society; sell drugs, prostitution, muder, extortion and they get as much time as Vick.

I read stories of guys who were bringing in hundreds of million of dollars worth of drugs, and lived in houses that would make Brad Pitt jealous.

Yet guys like these are in an out of the prison system everyday, after serving a lot less time then Micheal Vick did.

You can make any argument you want, but there were other factors in him being arrested. I'm sorry, but what Vick did was wrong and can not be condoned, but he got the short end of the stick. Get on your high horse all you want, but Id rather see pedophiles, rapists and drug dealers be put behind bars more then this guy.

In fact, Id take it a step further; Id rather all the pedophiles and rapists in the world, to be replaced by dog fighters. Id rather live in a world where dog fighting is acceptable, then where pedophilia and rape are. Because with the justice system as it is, and rapists and pedophiles spending less time in jail then Vick, that is exactly the message we are sending.

Sharkey58: The only difference is when they call in to the fan, there's someone on the other end to tell them they're an idiot. As a Leafs fan, this would probably be the worst possible trade right now.

Another reason why hockey players are the greatest in sports. All good Canadian kids, brought up the right way. I will defend hockey players to the death as the classiest and most accessible athletes, and this only gives me more evidence.

Tyson AllRed: I agree with you mostly everywhere, except the PG position. While Jose is a bit of a liability defensively, I think his offensive struggles this year, can be chalked up to his Hammy. Also, Will Solomon is trash. No way at getting around that. How many open shots has he missed. How many times has he throw it out of bounds. Granted both Ukic and Solomon will make mistakes; but they're different kinds. Ukic at least is still learning the game, trying to adjust. He is a rookie after all. Will Solomon is making the mistakes that forced him to go play in Europe for 6 years.

Posted Tuesday November 18, 2008, About: Sutcliffe pitching Cubs to Peavy
Yea, can't imagine the Cubs wanting an ace pitcher, who's capable of winning a CY young, to add to their 2 other Cy Young Candidates.

Either way, the Cubs are in the playoffs next year, where they go from there, is up to them... Having a 1, 2, 3 of Big Z, Harden and Peavy would be a pretty confident start to any series.

Actually, for all you amateur comedians out there, the Leafs resemble the Yankees in many, many ways. Both are the centre of their respective sport (You can argue, but its true). They are both the most valuable teams in their respective sport. They have rich tradition. They play in their respective countries biggest media centre. They both are the foundation of their leagues, as the Leafs and Yankees go, so too does the NHL and MLB. They have the biggest fan base, that follows them everywhere (although i think the Red Sox and Cubs would challenge the Yankees). They're the most famous teams of their respective leagues. They also incite the most hate, from loser fans with nothing better to do then hate on a team for no reason.

The NHL's crown jewel is the Leafs, and for baseball its the Yankees. Sure the overall success may not be there for the Leafs. But remember even the Yankees have had their droughts to deal with as well. They were a laughing stock for much of the 70's and 80's. Also, even though the Leafs haven't won in 42 years, we're still tied for being the 2nd most successful franchise.

ESPN just reported on their website that Brady was working out in the Patriots weight room today.

SI probably just wanted a bunch of hits today, so they put up this month old garbage.
Posted Wednesday October 22, 2008, About: Rodney Harrison's injury may be his last
Beastmode: If you want to get into that game; then why not check out the 4 or 5 holds going on through the pocket, as Eli was scrambling to save his life. I'm not going to argue about that game, but be fair, that play had penalties all over, including many holding calls from the Giants O-line, protecting Eli.

As for Rodney, he has always been my favourite Patriot, or at least my favourite defensive Pat. I never seemed to think he was that dirty, never really saw anything that was any dirtier then anything else i've seen on the field. I think Rodney got a bad rap, and it started following him and people began to look for hits that could be "moulded" into being dirty (IE: the Jets Eric Smith. That was not a dirty hit, but it has the appearance of being one. Most times people are too dumb to get past that.)

Rodney was a Great Player for the Pats and we don't have 2 more Super Bowl's with out him. Guess we're going to bring in Lynch then...
Posted Tuesday September 30, 2008, About: Ricky admits pot temptations
Let's Go Pens and D.Sliq: I'm not going to jump all over you or anything, but anyone who has told you that marijuana is addictive is a liar. Pure and simple. Each year; I get a couple of bad chest colds (believe me, I know they're from smoking) but for a week, sometimes 2 I can't smoke at all. Heroin addicts, Coke addicts, alcoholics can't do this. I also go on vacation a couple times of year; don't bring any pot with me, and I seem to be able to make through those vacations without needing my fix. There are also a hundred other days, or situations where I can't smoke, and I'm fine. An alchoholic, coke addict; they can't do that.

Drugs like Cocaine, Heroin and alcohol are 100 times more dangerous because the body will actually start to depend on them. If you don't have the substance in your system your body will shut down. Do you know how hard it is to detox from heroin, cocaine or alcohol? It's probably one of the most painful and excruciating experiences someone can through. Its like torture.
Posted Friday September 12, 2008, About: Company cashes in on Brady injury
Bucklwi1: Don't waste your breath. People have an irrational hate for the Patriots. I guess it would suck having to watch a team that has already won 3 SB's, is a perennial SB contender, and will be again once Brady comes back 100% next year. I have tried many times to argues with these people, but they simply don't listen to reason. They are incredibly jealous people, who resent Tom Brady and the Pats for their success. Pretty sad.
Posted Friday September 12, 2008, About: Company cashes in on Brady injury
ScottC1010: Open your eyes man. The Patriots hate has been going full throttle since the turn of the decade and their first SB win. Its actually pretty sad how much time, energy and emotion some people put into hating the Patriots. Just look at the comments on here, people actually HAPPY that he got injured. Football is a game and people who have a hate on for any team, as much as some do for the patriots are irrational, and mentally unstable There is absolutely NO reason, any team, anywhere should garner the hate the Patriots do. It is a FREAKING GAME, and some people on this site, and in America take it personally. Seriously; its nice to sit back on Sundays and watch, but if you can't let it go after the clock hits zero, then your problems go beyond football.

For instance; say this thread was about the Indy Colts and Peyton. I, myself am not a huge fan of the Colts, don't particularly like their team. Now would I waste my time and read it, and comment in it, and get into an arguement about it? Nope. I'd go do something else. I have a lot to do everyday.

I just don't understand why, if you have such a hate for the Patriots, you'd waste your time talking about them? Seriously, whether the Patriots win the next 5 SB's, or never win another one again, its not going to change my life or your life. Nor would it change my devotion as a fan. I love football, I love watching football. At a young age, I started cheering for the Patriots, and I try to watch them whenever I can. I hope they win, but I really don't care if they lose.
Posted Saturday August 30, 2008, About: Chad legally named Ocho Cinco
You people who call him and idiot and make fun need to lighten up. Seriously; why does it bother you that he does this? The only reaction this piece deserves is a snicker, or a laugh depending on how you feel. I personally, find it hilarious. I just find it so sad that in a country where freedom is always preached, you have guys on here calling him an idiot, for exercising it. News Flash to you uptight complainers; just because someone lives their life differently from you, does not make them stupid. Just because someone makes a decision that you wouldn't make, doesn't mean they have a below average IQ. It sickens me, that people jump on this guy because he likes to live his life, his way. So many people claim "their sick of this guy" then why click on the link? If you hate him, why read about him?

I hate the Indy Colts (respect the hell out of them, but hate them all the same), so what do I do? I avoid stories that talk about them. Pretty simple.

I honestly think, some people just need to complain about something. I guess to make them feel better, maybe their life isn't what they thought it would be, and are upset about it. I don't know, either way, if you're really that upset about Chad Ocho Cinco, may I suggest you find a hobby or something.

Seriously, being as upset as some people are, over something so trivial is unhealthy.
Posted Sunday August 03, 2008, About: FBI agent: NBA ref charges true
I've got too say that this is devestating for the NBA. The FBI is probably the most secure, watch every step you take, organization in the world. They don't try you, unless they will convict you (unless you kill a witness, or tamper with the jury). Secondly, someone this high up would not make false claims, about an on going investigation, or a recently finished investigation. That opens up way too many possible lawsuits for the NBA. Long story short, this is terrible for the NBA, and one day it will come out that games are being rigged, either by mobsters or the commissioner himself.

All the other leagues should take note of this and start doing some housecleaning themselves.
Posted Tuesday July 29, 2008, About: Leafs keeping eye on top pick
MaplePenguin: Ideally Schenn will play, one maybe 2 years in the minors. Also, I doubt they would wait until they are close to the playoffs to bring him up. A young defenseman, you don't need that fighting for a playoff spot. The Leafs will be garbage for the next couple of years. I'm thinking 2008-09, 09-10, 10-11. They will be back in the playoffs in 11-12. Using that logic, it would make sense to keep schenn in the minors this year, with a few games in the NHL at the end of the year. Then next year, have him compete for a spot on the team. If he earns it, great, if not back to the minors for a year. Then after that, the next season he'll be up for good.

Posted Friday July 18, 2008, About: Rampage's mental health in doubt
M3ATPLOW: Too be honest with you, I am not a huge MMA fan, but I think it would be a tremendous mistake to go back to the ring if he is suffering mental health issues. When you're suffering from depression, the last thing you need is head trauma, because it will make it worse. If I were on athletic commision, I would definitely not give a boxing or MMA license to anyone suffering from depresion, or any kind of mental illness, because there is no good outcome from that.
