I don't see why he's complaining. This kind of thing happens in the NBA. **** happens.

You're always gonna have 5-10 games a year that you look back and wish something else had been done, but hindsight is always 20-20. Looking at Phil's decision, I think it was the right one as well, the starters are the BETTER PLAYERS. That's why they start, they are your run stoppers, and playmakers.

Unfortunately tonight, they couldn't make a play. It happens. You gotta move on.
Posted Thursday November 20, 2008, About: Cubs eyeing Royals' Teahen
Hmmm....

Stick to Ibanez or Abreu, regardless of age, our most likely time to make a championship run is the next 2 or 3 years, so their age isn't a primary concern to me. Unless we can manage to get one or both away for a fairly cheap price, I wouldn't bother...

FMSD is sooo cool. I wish could be that funny. My life's dream, in fact.

Dream accomplished.
Good deal.
Posted Wednesday November 19, 2008, About: Cubs eyeing Royals' Teahen
Can someone please tell me how good Teahen is? I've never heard of him, seeing as he is from KC.

Pie is our main "prize prospect", so I'm assuming he must be pretty talented? Someone please fill me in, I'm very curious.
Posted Friday November 14, 2008, About: Billups regrets re-signing with Pistons
Why is he upset?

If you were assigned to a company under the illusion that you were there for the longterm, so you settle down, and then out of nowhere you are shipped across the country, you wouldn't be exactly pleased either...

I'm sure he understands that it is a business, but he isn't jumping for joy BECAUSE he was moved. If he had wanted to be a Nugget, he would have signed with them. I'm sure he understands how it works, he is a smart man.
Posted Wednesday November 12, 2008, About: Cubs free agents to test market
Cubs management already said that they don't plan to bring back Blanco, but want to bring back the other 2. I am still wary about Kerry Wood, so Marmol might end up taking over if Wood gets a contract that is rediculous.

Who said that?
Posted Tuesday October 28, 2008, About: Fukudome in Peavy deal?
I'd take Peavy over Dempster, but I was a big fan of Demps, so hopefully he will resign for a decent amount and we can end up with both... As long as Kosuke is gone, I could care less if he shows up, get him out!
Posted Friday October 24, 2008, About: Edgerrin frustrated with role
I wouldn't say that but he would be less diminished after taking a beating by their once-abysmal O-line...
Posted Wednesday October 22, 2008, About: Cubs GM seeking lefty hitters
Agreed but he can't play the outfield and wont move Lee though
Posted Wednesday October 22, 2008, About: Cubs GM seeking lefty hitters
Okay I am going to predict the future of this thread:

1) People will say that Lee will never get traded, and Tex won't be a Cub (which is likely true).
2) Massive complaints about Brian Roberts becoming a Cub (possibly) will appear.
3) Complaints from AL East Fans will say something about Coco Crisp is not what they are looking for, and wouldn't work (which is would possibly agree if Edmonds doesn't come back)

Either way, I personally would love to see the Roberts talk open up again, even if the public despises it.

HAHAHAHA We SMOKED them!
Posted Friday October 17, 2008, About: Yankees, Braves chasing Peavy
He would actually make sense for the Yankees, it's obviously their biggest weakness. But I still think it would take more than those 2, maybe Melky or a package of prospects? You can't really tell how desperate they are yet
Posted Thursday October 16, 2008, About: Which teams will make a run at Manny?
Agreed.
Posted Tuesday September 02, 2008, About: Piniella hints at lineup changes
I wonder why the brewers Fan thinks the cubs are going to self-destruct after winning 85 games...strange ;)
Posted Friday August 22, 2008, About: Livingston a fit with Lakers?
Even being, as already said, completely overloaded at guard, D-Fish is a pretty elderly guy. Injuries and/or the need to slow down his playing time will eventually come around. Get this kid as a project (A Much better project than DJ MBenga I might add) and let him devolop under the staff. What could it hurt? The 12th man almost never plays, why not let the 12th man be a devolopmental roll? I guess I'm just saying that it isn't going to hurt you either way, if he is too far gone to come back from injury, then cut him, if not, let him grow.

Shepiam:

Winning seems to make you forget about all the problems you had :-)

He REALLY needs to get in camp, I have NO idea why he turned down $50 Million? Running backs are a popular commodity, and not too many other teams are gonna whip out that kind of money, not teams that are any better than the Rams anyway. A few cellar-dwellers (like ourselves) might offer, but he isn't making any progress by doing so. It's just plain idiotic, what he's doing, I don't know what he's asking for? $75 Million? ****?
Posted Wednesday August 20, 2008, About: Isringhausen says he's 'done'
I never realized he was around that long to get so many saves? I never seen him as an "all-time" club leader. Man, learn something new everyday :)
Posted Wednesday August 13, 2008, About: Is Steinbrenner giving up on '08 Yanks?
Slink, I would agree with you on some days, but, on the days when the Cubs' full rotation is HEALTHY, I think they're better. Harden is extremely good, we all know that, and I believe he's better than anyone in the Angels staff. Not to mention Big Z, who I think is also better than anyone in their staff. The only weakspot in that rotation is Marquis on the back end, and he won't be there in October. So IF you put health on the sideline, the Cubs, imo, are better. But, then again, Lackey and a few others have been hurt on the Angels too...

But, Yeah I do agree w/ the Bullpen thing, Esp. given the fact Marmol hasn't gotten back to his complete dominance since the beginning of the year.
Posted Tuesday August 12, 2008, About: Green no lock to make Rams
I remember Brock Berlin. He played for us last year some. Trust me, it wasn't easy to forget, the man was horrible. I seen no potential out of him at all. I wasn't even impressed when he was on Miami/Florida U either. If Trent can see straight, he'll be the #2, or else Linehan doesn't have his marbles in my opinion.
Posted Monday August 11, 2008, About: Piniella warns slumping Fukudome
I dont think he deserved to be an All-Star in the first place, and I'm sure most would agree. I've never liked the way he played, he swings the bat like Ichiro, but finds himself wiffing a lot more than Ichiro does. Either move him down in the order, or put Derosa/Reed out there, and Edmonds in CF. Edmonds is hitting great lately.
