Get back to us when you win the conference more than once a decade. Or even the division.

oh, and here's a little secret: The Longhorns have outrecruited the Sooners every year forever. That's what happens when your state has 8 times the population. That's why it's so embarrassing that Texas has accomplished as little as it has. But congrats on another top five recruiting class. That's really, um, neat.

Stoops, honey, I think everybody knew the OLine would be the weak link this year. I was shocked Sam decided to stick around. He won't have the numbers he had last year.

It's no fun being nice.

Confession: If I had one wish this Christmas, it would be to be visited online by a condescending self-satisfied prick.

wait -- waddyaknow, it looks like I'm in luck!!

Note to Billy: it was cute the first time. Eight years ago. Leave well enough alone.

On the Sooner boards we actually laid odds out: 80% chance Sims would yell Boomer and 100% chance he'd find a way to embarrass himself.

With their talented QB, Baylor's looking to have a decent offense the next couple of years. Lightyears ahead of A&M. Maybe he should consider the Golden Bears.

It wouldn't take much to sweep the Big12 North every other year. I mean, look at what Mangino was able to do at Kansas last year -- and that's Kansas!

too funny.

What an awful picture of Charlie. What's he looking at?
Posted Monday December 15, 2008, About: Heisman loss motivates Tebow, Gators
He seems like a good kid. I'm happy for him.

But when you consider that the other two Heisman finalists are similarly grounded, I think the media's love affair with Tim is, shall we say, a little excessive and even unfair. Tim, Colt, And Sam have all three been featured by FCA's magazine as models of their faith. You say Tim was Academic All-American? Well, Sam was, too. Sam has a 3.95 in Finance, and Colt was first team All Big 12 Academic. Sam is a role model for Native kids everywhere...he's a cult hero for a demographic desperately in need of them. Colt volunteers with the Children's Miracle Network and even saved a guy's life one time. But you'd never know any of that from the media coverage.

I don't have a problem with Tim. I have a problem with the media's hype of Tim at the expense of all the other guys out there who are equally laudable.

From the original article:
Bradford put together some earth-shaking numbers for the Sooners this season. Tebow's numbers were less eye-popping, but came against much better competition.
Give me a friggin' break.

All hail, the mighty SEC. Let angels prostate fall.

Are *any* Auburn fans on board with this guy? Because I think the band's already playing Nearer My God to Thee.

I never said it wasn't, but Oklahoma has the fewest sacks allowed of any BCS school.

you would think he were Jesus.

dingdingding.

At least Sam was smart enough to gush about his line from the stage. They're amazing. Sam's amazing in his own right, but his praeternatural success has been in large part due to his teammates.
Posted Sunday December 14, 2008, About: What killed McCoy's Heisman hopes
As best as I can tell from reading the original story, which is only slightly more sensical than this abridged version, what "killed" Colt's Heisman chances was the fact that his opponents were so talented. How that's different than any other year is unclear.

Quote: "The race was so top heavy that Texas??? Colt McCoy accumulated enough points [that he would have won] four of the past eight Heismans." Perhaps the argument is that what killed his chances was unfortunate timing? That's the best I can figure.

904 of 926 isn't "only." It was the highest percentage in ages.
Posted Sunday December 14, 2008, About: What killed McCoy's Heisman hopes
I don't think anything killed his hopes, because his hopes aren't dead yet.

He'll be even better next year.

Those must be Big 12 voters who thought that Harrell and/or Crabtree were as equally deserving as the others. You can make a pretty strong case for either one of those guys.

USC can do better than Sanchez.
